I think the closest I can get to being happy people are willing / eager to assume the worst of trump. That’s good. But generally yeah, people running with a false story is rarely good. Being skeptical of that is pretty important in fending off “blue maga” or whatever it’s called.

I had dinner last night with coworkers who do not obsessively follow politics and three of the four had heard “trump said we should bomb LA.” I agree he didn’t actually say that, but it is interesting this particular thing has traction. Whether that’s good or bad, I dunno.

Not saying they didn’t sandbag, or that the jail restrictions were necessarily wrong, but it was pretty messy. Morale generally was low because it’s hard to bang your head against walls like that without adopting some measure of ‘fuck it what the point’ thinking regardless of opinion about the DA.

I was a federal LEO there during part of his tenure and it was almost impossible to book people into the San Francisco jail due to Covid restrictions. Like I had to cite and release the same guy for jerking off in front of kids multiple times. It was wild.
