HUGE APPLAUSE for the anti-AI statement on my kid’s ninth grade English syllabus. This is how it’s done. Grade of zero if you turn in AI work, and by the way it’s killing the environment.

Al data centers cause drastic environmental harm through massive electricity consumption, heavy water usage, and carbon pollution. For this reason alone, consider your use of Al carefully. In terms of the assignments and the specific context of this class, I would much rather you submit something unfinished, flawed, or below standard than outsource to a robot the very things that make us human - the messy, never-finished work of learning, thinking, feeling, and trying to express ourselves to others. The mind and heart are muscles, humble, imperfect, and forever growing, and you must let them struggle if you expect them to grow.
Cell Phone Policy
Cell phones should be placed in the numbered cell phone pouches when students enter the room. Phones should never be left og your desk unless the teacher states otherwise. Failure to leave a phone in the pouches can result in the phone being confiscated
