Made a rudimentary hint system. Triggers need to be worked on. Honestly, with how things are set up, I could totally have dialog that exists within level spaces themselves, so custom hinting is doable. Might want to sketch that out sometime soon?

Fundamentally I think videogames are a medium that (most of the time) gets worse the more the texture is obfuscated. It is not a medium where it's beneficial to hide the artist's hand; The details of the craft are more compelling than the artifice.

Fuck the games industry btw. I'm not just saying this as a nerd but as someone who pursued/had a career in game dev at one point. The constant uncertainty and abuse is why mental health and substance use problems are rampant among game devs. I lost two close industry friends because of this culture

Getting funding for a game is difficult. Getting Kickstarter backing seems impossible because of wildly skewed expectations. Let me explain... So, for Eldritch 2, I'd be working alone. I'd ask for the lower end of my usual contract rate × the number of months I expect it'll take to finish the game.
