So while doing this I have noticed that I had failed to realize that Rex's face is wildly different (read: a downgrade) pre-Dawntrail whereas Fosco basically looks the same. I am sure some of that is due to DT updates but I do wonder if some of it is from loading non-miqo facial expressions.

K'sarritsu places a flower crown on her mother's head, "Momma, I made you a crown!"
"Oh, my heart, I love it so! You remembered that desert roses are my favorite. But please be careful, they are poisonous." K'leinna accepts with a grin. She'd once been called the 'Desert Rose' of the K tribe, beautiful and untouchable, that was until K'sarritsu was born. Regardless of the difficulties she faced, she never let her daughter see her struggle.
K'sarritsu was ever the dutiful daughter, listening to her mother's lessons and learning from her and the tribe's healer, "I remembered, momma, and I was careful. "

"You remembered, did you? Oh, I could just eat you up! Come to momma!"
K'leinna grabs little K'sarritsu and proceeds to tickle her mercilessly.
"Ah! Noooo!! HAHAHA!! Momma!! No tickles!! HAHAHA!!"

K'leinna and K'sarritsu were each other's whole worlds. K'leinna was fiercely protective of her daughter, for the tribe did not accept her. Her struggles taught K'sarritsu how powerful love can be, but also, that sometimes love means sacrifice. .

K'leinna and K'sarritsu.
K'sarritsu ran away from the tribe when she was in her teens and changed her name to Kusari after a fashion. . . and the K tribe would later be one of the many victims of Dalamud's fall, her mother included. She hopes her mother would be proud of who she is now, but she never doubts that her mother's love follows her to this day.

The dialogue options to jokingly imply Y'shtola has motherly energy are fun and all, but nothing beats calling Shantotto "Mommy" in FFXI and her changing your title to "Total Loser" in response, requiring you to pay gil to get it changed back and letting everyone on the server know what you did.

Family: Bryhna and Calco, once upon a time as close as siblings could be, now facing away from each other, barely able to so much as speak without arguments arising.

AU: Where the pull of the abyss was too great to overcome, and the Dark Knight Calco abandoned Eorzea to his fate, it eventually fell to his forsaken sister to lay low the former hero. At the start of the Steps of Faith, the two stare each other down, magic surrounding Bryhna, and shadows enveloping Calco.

Dream: Ahead of Calco, an ever-elusive destination without direction. Behind him, countless footsteps in the sand, his legs tired and worn. A vision of the journey without end.

Heights: At the top of Kugane Tower, Calco and special guest star Fosco look down upon the city below.
