Do I know any journalists or folks with large platforms who might be up for promoting the launch of some new trans-inclusive fieldwork guidance from researchers at a UK university? It's almost ready for launch and I want to make sure they're seen and used by as many people as possible...

Working with taxidermy: - are they real - did someone shoot/kill all of them - do you have any extinct animals More broadly - why is XYZ no longer on display (usually referencing human remains or sensitive cultural items)

Had a lovely time watching the Margate Pride parade today, so refreshing to see this amount of community groups and individuals participants, compared to commercial floats at other parades. But I'm not gonna lie, this little pup might have been the star of the show. 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️ #margatepride

A photo of the head, neck and shoulders of a taxidermy argali, which is a type of wild sheep. It is of a male, with large, curled horns. The photo is taken from a low angle, the animal looks as if he is giving the viewer the side eye.A group of taxidermy gorillas in a diorama. A large silverback male stands on two legs on the left, his right arm is slightly off the ground, his left arm reaches overhead to hold onto a branch. A smaller female is on all fours towards the right, she is carrying an infant on her back. Behind the animals is dense jungle foliage and the base of a large tree. Two taxidermy giraffes in a diorama setting. The one on the left is standing with its neck bent downwards, as if to drink. The one on the right is standing tall, eating from branches in the background. In the foreground, medium sized antelope are grazing.A group of about 10 people of different ages and genders, standing with their back towards the viewer. They are looking at a large taxidermy diorama, which shows a mountainous scene inspired by the Himalayas with various animals, including wild sheep, goats, monkeys and bears. The diorama is filling the entire visible back wall of the room. One person stands sideways to the rest of the group looking at their reaction, while the rest appear absorbed by what they are seeing.

Yesterday was a celebration of joy and progress, bringing community together and the galleries to life. I'll leave you with my favourite items from the display, because kids will be kids, wherever and whenever they are. 5/5

While I fully acknowledge that I may be slightly biased, I still think that this is such important work, and that over the last 2-3 years, the museum has come leaps and bounds, opening and re-opening several displays that try to do better while also conserving historic collections. 4/5

Now, this case tells the stories of different parts of Zulu life, tries to restore individuality to some of the people working for the Powell-Cottons in the 1930s, and draws connections to modern people and communities. 3/5

It was a delight to see so many people come along to celebrate this achievement, and to see brought back to life a collection that, until a few years ago, was just another cram-packed early 20th century cabinet. 2/5

The wall to the right, extending towards the foreground has been painted in a peach colour, and is covered in large pictures of Zulu women artisans, together with explanatory panels and a TV screen.
