Ash @femmefatale138.bsky.social · 23/08/2026Long time no see. I'm still alive! All of my free time has been going to the gym and fishing. I will be back in the studio soon! Maybe with something fishy this time. #fishing #fish #nature #outdoors 020
Ash @femmefatale138.bsky.social · 20/02/2026Finished my eastern tiger swallowtail! Hopefully this and some other pieces will be in an upcoming group show. Just waiting to hear back from the curator. #sciart #art #natureart #insectart #butterflies #coloredpencil 1180

Ash @femmefatale138.bsky.social · 14/02/2026Made some more progress on my eastern tiger swallowtail today. It will be mounted in a shadow box like my other pieces when it is done. #sciart #art #butterflies #insectart #drawing #coloredpencil #natureart 0230
Ash @femmefatale138.bsky.social · 08/02/2026Started on an eastern tiger swallowtail today. These always start out a little ugly just gotta trust the process 😂 #sciart #art #butterflies #drawing #coloredpencil #insectart 0100
Ash @femmefatale138.bsky.social · 05/02/2026It is Western Monarch Day so I'm sharing this piece again 🦋 I'll have something new to share real soon. #sciart #monarch #monachday #butterflies #art #drawing #insectart 0131
Ash @femmefatale138.bsky.social · 06/10/2025The opening for the group show went great on Friday! I got a slightly better pic of my piece "Eclipse". The show will be up at Prophecy Ink in Louisville, KY until November. Check it out if you're in the area! #art #sciart #louisville #moths #insectart #natureart 0192
Ash @femmefatale138.bsky.social · 29/09/2025I just spotted a little tree frog at work. What a cutie! It has made my day much better. I nudged it off the sidewalk so it doesn't get stepped on. #frogs #amphibians #nature #animals 070
Ash @femmefatale138.bsky.social · 25/09/2025"Eclipse" is finally done! Ill have to get a nicer picture when the show goes up. My studio lighting is so harsh 😩 #sciart #art #moths #natureart #insectart #coloredpencil 2315
Ash @femmefatale138.bsky.social · 22/09/2025Finished a couple more moths today! A Virgin tiger moth and Io moth. I'll have the full piece done this week. #sciart #art #moths #insectart #natureart #coloredpencil 1354
Ash @femmefatale138.bsky.social · 19/09/2025Base is done for my big moth piece! I sculpted and painted the rocks, logs, and deer track. I sprayed everything with a high gloss sealer to give it a dewy look. Just need to cut out and add my moths and I'll probably be done. #sciart #art #sculpting #moths #natureart 0150
Ash @femmefatale138.bsky.social · 30/08/2025Another update on my WIP. Need to get more paint. I've decided to title it "Eclipse." It is a double meaning. Eclipse can mean a group of moths but also one thing being overtaken by another. Habit loss and climate change are eclipsing nature. #sciart #art #moths #conservation #insectart 060
Ash @femmefatale138.bsky.social · 23/08/2025Working on sculpting some elements of my moth wip. I haven't done a lot of sculpting but I think I'm doing alright. Got a deer track, oak log, and rocks done. #sciart #art #sculpting #natureart 0120
Ash @femmefatale138.bsky.social · 19/08/2025No art updates but I spotted this beauty at work today! I think it is a Virginia Creeper Sphinx. #moths #insects #nature 070

Ash @femmefatale138.bsky.social · 02/08/2025Next up will be a Luna moth! I've done one before as a gift for my sister. I feel like I can't make something about native moths without including one though. WIP. #sciart #art #moths #insects #coloredpencil #drawing 0220
Ash @femmefatale138.bsky.social · 02/08/2025Drew a banded tussock moth today. It was a bit of a challenge since they are so small! They only have a wingspan of 1-2 inches. #sciart #art #moths #insectart #coloredpencil #drawing 0301
Ash @femmefatale138.bsky.social · 29/07/2025Here is a size comparison of my cecropia silk moth and polyphemus moth. Im doing the all to their true size (somewhere between their average and max size). Its cool to see the differences. #sciart #art #moths #insectart #coloredpencil #drawing 0301
Ash @femmefatale138.bsky.social · 28/07/2025Finished my polyphemus moth. She is going to be part of a large pice im working on. #sciart #art #insectart #moths #coloredpencil #natureart 05510

Ash @femmefatale138.bsky.social · 12/07/2025Made a little more progress on my cecropia silk moth. #sciart #art #moths #insectart #coloredpencil #drawing 0392
Ash @femmefatale138.bsky.social · 06/07/2025Got started on my cecropia silk moth today. She is going to take a while! Cecropia silk moths are the largest native moth in North America with a wingspan of 5 to 7 inches! #sciart #art #insectart #moths #coloredpencil 0362
Ash @femmefatale138.bsky.social · 29/06/2025Im going to be starting a piece based on Indiana native moths and butterflies. Before I start a physical drawing I usually do simple line work digitally to help as a guide. It helps a lot when they have complex patterns. Can you guess what she is going to be? #sciart #art #moths #insectart 091
Ash @femmefatale138.bsky.social · 22/06/2025My monarch and rosy maple moth were accepted into a local show happening next month. Super excited to be included! Ill share more details when they have a show flyer posted. #sciart #art #drawing #insectart #butterflies #moths 0565

Ash @femmefatale138.bsky.social · 14/06/2025It's been awhile since I've made anything. Doing some marker sketches today. I was inspired by beerpups last sketchbook video on YouTube to draw with just markers. It's a good way to learn new shapes. #sciart #art #deer #drawing #sketching 1290

Ash @femmefatale138.bsky.social · 14/05/2025It's been a minute since I had something new to share so here's another old piece. Linocut field mouse, opossum, and white-tailed deer. #sciart #printmaking #art #nature 0230
Ash @femmefatale138.bsky.social · 10/05/2025Found this little guy in the garage today. Luckily I didn't run him over pulling in. I think it's a common brown garter snake but not 100% sure. We have found a lot of them in our garden. I moved him back there safely. He was very spicy. #snakes #nature #animals 040

Ash @femmefatale138.bsky.social · 23/04/2025I had my surgery today. Things went well and I don't feel too bad right now. I'll probably be doing some pencil and digital drawing while I recover. Any bugs or animals you think I should draw? I could use some inspiration. #art #sciart #drawing 3100
Ash @femmefatale138.bsky.social · 22/04/2025Whooping crane with cattails. This is another older piece from my BFA senior thesis. Whooping cranes nearly went extinct in the 30s and 40s due to habitat loss and illegal hunting. Conservation efforts saved them from extinction but they are still endangered. #art #sciart #printmaking #birds 0190
Ash @femmefatale138.bsky.social · 22/04/2025Alligator gar with forkshell mussels. This was part of my BFA senior thesis many years ago. I'm still proud of it. Forkshell mussels have been presumed extinct. Efforts are being made to restore alligator gar populations in the Ohio and Mississippi rivers. #art #sciart #printmaking #conservation 2744
Ash @femmefatale138.bsky.social · 20/04/2025I drew another cherry blossom ball python. I'm getting surgery on Wednesday so I wanted to knock something quick out in the studio today. I suck at photographing my work. Any tips on getting the colors to look right? #art #sciart #coloredpencil #snakes #drawing 0200
