I got a story rejected today, and apparently my fiction writing is so realistic, that they thought it was nonfiction! I've had a couple editors say that too, even though everything I write is 100% made up, not even remotely related to real events in my life. I think it’s a great compliment #writing

My anger over how and currently #COVID-19 has been handled and treated is long and deep-stemming back to 2020. ESPECIALLY by the research university who was NOT PRACTICING WHAT THEY PREACH. I watched scientists & academics go to public health conferences & come back with covid!

Yeah, this was an awful time. I had to get police involved three times for threats I received while promoting COVID19 vaccines in 2021. The worst was after I was quoted in the WSJ. Can’t even recall what I said, but it launched a bunch of protonmail missives from feral anti-public health nutters.

This reminds me of my anti-water childhood. No water bottles allowed at all in K-12 class, only at lunch. Only 1 gulp of water at the fountain after gym class. Many people asked, some were getting kidney stones, but nope. Suffer.

With the NHJ article breaking Bluesky, I will say a lot of kids at my college went to Stuyvesant High School but I heard it was a pressure cooker. Those kids were wound up like strings. Gunn High school in Palo Alto's another one. US education seems to be increasingly a bimodal experience.

Hate how society is built around duel income/having someone else support you. Health insurance 3x, since I lost my job; my state added work requirement to Medicaid--can't qualify for SNAP, and only got 1 really scammy job offer in a month. Unemployment only covers 1/2 my monthly expenses.
