That is a great level of distant humanoid design! More than glued on ears, but still close enough to read emotions.

The way things go these days, the show will probably show how Apophis was actually a visionary „job creator“ genius who was unjustly vilified by the (traditionally leftist) American military.

Iain M Banks being usually prescient in „Look To Windward“ (2000): #IainMBanks #TheCulture #Culture #SciFi #ScienceFiction
A quote from the 2000 novel „Look To Windward“ by Iain M Banks:

„Well, it is considered rather impolite to land an aircraft on a summit which people are at that moment struggling up to the hard way, but it can and does happen. Good manners indicate that the picnic ought to be shared and that those who arrived by aircraft express awe and respect for the accomplishment of the climbers. ‘The point, of course, is that the people who spent days and sweated buckets could also have taken an aircraft to the summit if all they’d wanted was to absorb the view. It is the struggle that they crave. The sense of achievement is produced by the route to and from the peak, not by the peak itself. It is just the fold between the pages.“

Also “guilty pleasure” is a term I’m growing to hate. Just call it fun. No need to feel guilty (not really directed at you personally, just in general). Probably got roots in some form of guilt-laden flavor of Christianity. Or maybe it stems from hyper industrialism/optimization cult.

Make stuff. Do your hobbies. Geek out with your weird friends. Practice arts and crafts. Every society that ever burned to the ground left behind only the handicrafts, and every society saved from the brink was saved only by arts. Do not give up the joy of creating.

The purpose of AI used to create visual products IMO is to take away the inkling of agency and societal relevance creative people - not the richest people historically to start with - and put it into the hands of super rich psychopaths - who don’t consider non super rich people as people at all.

But the complaint about pop /social media/TV is that it is a pernicious system designed and manufactured to capture the audience’s time and attention for the sole purpose of showing them adds. It is excellent at that, not mid. But that is not art.

It’s an old Hape Kerkeling skid from the late 90s. He makes fun of a group of performance art experts by posing as an artist and presenting a totally weird poem about a wolf and a lamb. It’s hard to watch.
