Quick KDE Tip 💡 Dolphin's toolbar can sit at the top, bottom, left, or right. Right-click an empty toolbar area and uncheck “Lock Toolbar Positions.” Right-click the newly visible handle → “Orientation,” then choose a position. Re-enable “Lock Toolbar Positions” to keep it there.

GET WIRED - LOG ON TO THE WORLD (Source.)
Up top, in red rounded sans serif block font, the supertitle: "GET WIRED-LOG ON TO THE WORLD". Below that, in squared sans serif font with rounded corners in gold, the name of the magazine, COMPUTE; the hollow of the O forms a house. The subtitle below reads, "Your complete home computer resource - $2.95 February 1991." Middle cover is a stunning piece of digital art by artist Doug Strothers; made on a Micro Vax II, it depicts a dragonfly spaceship (mottled black and yellow) flying past two fractal gas giants to land on a fractal red planet. Below are the major article callouts: "HOME BUSINESS HELP • PC MONEY MANAGER • SPACE WARS AND GALACTIC CONQUEST • COMPUTER NOMAD • SURE FIRE MAC FIXES"

For a machine called the "Spectravideo," how come it's a grey and white box with only a tiny splash of red?
An ad from the August 1983 issue of Compute! magazine. Page top, the heading "PRESENTING THE REMARKABLE SV-318." Beneath is a photo of the machine hovering in an abstract blue and white field; the machine has a white case, a red-and-yellow logo, a 71 key keyboard with grey chiclet keys, and most notable of all, a red joystick machine right about the size of a pinball plunger instead of cursor keys. Page center, the slogan: "The personal computer you'll grow into, not out of." Page bottom left, a dense table presenting the Spectravideo as superior to its competitors (accomplished with gentle amounts of lyings, such as saying the Commodore 64 doesn't have a cartridge slot). Extremely dense text appears page bottom right. At the very bottom, the red-and-orange "SV 318" logo appears, followed by "For under $300" and the final, ultimate disclaimer: "This device has not been approved by the Federal Communications Commission."

Teens & Violence: Should We Blame The Games? (Source.)
The cover of Family PC magazine for October 1999. Below the white-and magenta logo are the words "Real Life. Real Answers." The cover image is a kid holding a gun, looking at the viewer very intensely - well, as intense as a clean-cut 14-year-old wearing his hat backwards holding a pink plastic lightgun can be, anyways. The headlines on the left hand side read: "Teens & Violence", "Should We Blame The Games?", "How to Talk to Your Kids," "9 Games Kids Shouldn't Play," "PLUS: "Halloween Fun & Crafts," "Online Trading: Tread Carefully"

The Aroma Disc Player by Charles of the Ritz from 1983, allowing a combination of scents in different strengths to be played on scent "records." Selling out its initial Christmas run before Christmas, the company producing it would change hands many times in the years to follow. (Source.)
A batch of discs for the Aroma Disc Player, some of which are in wax paper sleeves and some of which are in Digipak sleeves. Scents include Pina Colada, Christmas Tree, Fireplace, and Seduction. An ad for The "Aromance" Aroma Disc Player by International Fragrance Technologies. A hand is pushing a disc into the frontloader; a small wisp of presumably scented steam is rising out of vents on top, into the text of the ad. Up top it reads, "The electric room freshener. There's no better gift to clear the air." The ad copy describes its guarantees, the three free discs included (the ones pictured are Christmas Tree, Honeysuckle & Rose, and English Garden), as well as a subscription plan offering three records every six weeks for $10.95 plus shipping.Box art for the Aroma Disc Player, showing a slender disc being loaded into a frontloading disc player. SKATE OR DIE
In an ad from Compute! Gazette, April 1988 (shortly before skating became Absolutely Huge), this extremely 90s ad features a skater doing a hand plant in a technicolor maelstrom suggesting palm trees. Headings read "The Wildest Multi-Event Game Ever!" (above the graffiti logo), "Mad Max on Wheels" (by a half-pipe screenshot), "Skate & Destroy" (in the top-down overworld), "Rodney's Skate Shop" (speaking to a lawyer-safe punk rendition of Rodney Dangerfield), and "Lester" ("Free 'Lester' sticker in every package!"). "Software by David Bunch, Michael Kosaka, Stephen Landrum." By Electronic Arts, with their classic ECA logo.
