This is frigging amazing. Usually, sculpting requires a high poly count (you can then bake the sculpted details onto a low poly version) but this neat tool can potentially sidestep the whole thing. It’s wild it didn’t exist before

Uh oh, Ryan’s making maps again. Swordtember sent me in a direction and I’m gonna follow it where it takes me. Here’s a medieval coastal whaling settlement.

Expanding the world a little bit. I feel like I've worked on the engine enough, now it's time for content. My next goal is to have a few districts to drive around, a website for pizza delivery jobs and some furniture for the apartment. #escape93 #gamedev #indiedev

I went for something smaller and cuter this time. A wizard study, perhaps? This is an in-game screenshot BTW, of a fantasy room builder I'm making. Coming to Steam, very soon. #screenshotsaturday #indiegame #gamedev
A small room in isometric view. Walls and floor are made of wood. Notable elements include a telescope, an open scroll on a desk, a magic orb, two bookshelves with red tomes, and a tall potted plant. In the bottom-right corner, a logo reads "Keep Making".

Like, you thought I drew this from memory, or from some internet picture? lol. Lmao even Nope, I modeled it in Blender first. The 3D part took less than 10 minutes Although it should be noted that in my case I need to produce four 90° rotations of the same object, so it’s a special case

fedetibaldo | Wishlist KEEP MAKING @fedetibaldo.com · 11/09/2026
Just learn it; there are no special preconditions. I’m a barely-OK artist but I use Blender just fine. In fact, it’s a tremendous aid in drawing: you can block out environments, props, etc and frame them just right to get free, always-on-point references. It’s a cheat code, really

Another dungeon room done! Tthis is how it looks in-game. I would decorate the hell out of it but I've gotta get a move on those Steam screenshots. Next up: something wizard-ish 🔮 #screenshotsaturday #gamedev #indiedev #ttrpg
A screenshot of a large, square room made in Keep Making. There are 4 entrances (one per side), an elevated platform in the middle, and an altar at its center. The room is presented in isometric view. In the bottom-right corner, the game's logo has been superimposed.

As far as you can tell, how does it fare with HTML you don’t own—e.g., a cookie banner? My guess from previous css-in-js experience is that it doesn’t support it, but I’d be happy to be proven wrong

But yeah, I agree with your sentiment. SVG paths are a really neat and compact way to describe vector images. 10/10 format, would recommend
110
fedetibaldo | Wishlist KEEP MAKING @fedetibaldo.com · 29/08/2026
It’s got a dependency on my Vector class but it should be easy to replace. Also, don’t mind the occasional weird syntax: the thing had to go through some heavy minification to eventually fit (along the rest of the project) in 13kb gzipped

If you want to start from somewhere, here is my implementation. It’s spec compliant, so you can feed it any path (ease of iteration was essential in my case, so I went the extra mile). Again though, no arches. Good luck with those :P github.com/fedetibaldo/...

fedetibaldo | Wishlist KEEP MAKING @fedetibaldo.com · 29/08/2026
For a past game jam I wrote a piece of code that turns SVG paths into Canvas2D method calls. It might be a little overkill in your case, but honestly? As long as you stay away from arches, it’s all pretty straightforward

I don’t have anything to gift but how does one learn all that? Like, if my CRT died, I have all the schematics (god bless this old custom) but I wouldn’t know where to start to fix it. Should I practice (de)soldering boards for fun? Is there a “hello world” of hardware mods? I would love to know

Sometimes I do get car sickness but VR sickness is different. To me, it’s eye strain, cold sweats, and eventually my head starts spinning. One might say it’s textbook motion sickness, but IDK… car sickness starts in the guts, while VR motion sickness starts in the head, if you get what I mean

My game is all modular building pieces, which I’m in the process of naming 🫠 Those diagrams are absolutely essential. They’re also helping me build my vocabulary: goodbye “stone slab above the door”, hello “flat arch lintel with decorative key stone” 💅

Are still very much required. But one builds human skills at human scale. Ergo, and closing the loop, human scale should be everything you need. I’m not trying to pull a massive ‘gotcha’, nor to be disingenuous. Do you disagree? Does your need for scale come from somewhere else? Best regards

fedetibaldo | Wishlist KEEP MAKING @fedetibaldo.com · 21/08/2026
—‘why isn’t human scale enough’—let’s say the answer has nothing to do with your learning, but has everything to do with your employer. I’d argue the employer is asking for the impossible! Let them do the work at ‘super-human scale’, let’s see how far that gets them. What I’m saying is: the skills…

, especially when it comes down to one-off tasks (although I’d argue that dipping your toes into unknown territory can be fun). But when it becomes systemic, when everything you do becomes ‘at scale’, what new things will you learn? None, is my worry. Going back to the initial question…

Dozens of other resources on the same topic. How can you be comfortable with a scale you, by definition, can’t handle? If the answer is: ‘the LLM will understand it for me’, (supposing they could do that reliably, for argument’s sake) why are you even in the loop? I understand the appeal of it…

That’s not how we learn the nitty gritty details, the things that make you go ‘aha!’ and make you never forget what you’ve learnt. Besides, LLM summaries can’t be trusted so you’re going to be verifying each source anyway, except you’ll do so without the lingo and knowledge that comes from scouring…

If I understand you correctly, you’re saying LLMs can help one access information at scale. But my question is: what does ‘at scale’ mean? Does it mean ‘more than human’? If so, why isn’t the human scale enough? You know—one article/one forum thread at a time sort of scale. Summaries are great but…

Similar but not the same: I’m really glad I could give gamedev a proper try, because not knowing “what could have been” was making my work life as a software engineer miserable. I still would pick solo gamedev over SWE, but if I had to go back, I would be alright with that, I think

Keep Making is coming to Steam
Build isometric dungeons in Keep Making, the upcoming game on Steam. With hundreds of bricks planned at launch, create infinitely many adventure sites, one room at a time.

Behind-the-scenes look at a new room in progress 👀 With a working save system, I can build, create the bricks I need, build some more, and then swap in the texture at a later time #screenshotsaturday #gamedev #indiedev
A WIP screenshot of the Keep Making. The screenshot is of a large, square room with 4 entrances (one per side), an elevated platform in the middle, and, supposedly, an altar at its center. The room is presented in isometric view. Many bits don't have a texture and so are plain gray. At the top-right corner, the game's logo has been superimposed.

I've finished my latest comic, a completely stand-alone story withing the HOME universe. In fact, if Marvel has What if? and DC has Elseworlds, then this is my version of that. Marc Michaud's Perhaps This? anyway, I'll post 10 pages per post for a total of 50 pages.

How does the muddling work out? Are you left with chunks you then chew, or do you work it into a paste of sorts? I’ve never incorporated fleshy fruits into my drinks but your recipe sounds intriguing
