I'm open to almost anything tbh. This has been an increasingly annoying issue for my entire freaking life. What I was looking at was recommending cognitive behavioral therapy though and I found that pretty weird???

A quick google search is saying this is geared toward things like balance? I have pretty good balance. Sound just makes my ears hurt. Is that still relevant?

God, I love books. They look nice. They feel nice to hold. They smell nice. They’re the most fun cool thing humans do. They’re cheaper than most other forms of entertainment. Books, man. Books. #booksky #reading

I personally like the term “queer” as a self-identification, because it is an enthusiastic rejection of normalcy and assimilation. It conjures up Rocky Horror Picture Show type imagery that embraces being weird as hell, out loud and in public. It refuses to explain itself to others’ satisfaction.

I unfortunately have to survive capitalism, and as things stand right now, leaving the KU program lowers my income and raises my costs by an astronomical degree. If readers went to Kobo or something I'd be thrilled to follow them.

F.A. Ray | MM Romance Author @faray.bsky.social · 23/03/2025

I think an overlooked thing about this Amazon boycott is that the people most likely/able to do it are probably more casual Amazon users. Someone with a subscription - say, a Kindle Unlimited subscription - is not a casual user, and they're a huge amount of the reader base for indies. #indieauthor

170

F.A. Ray | MM Romance Author @faray.bsky.social · 23/03/2025

Yeah, especially when it comes to indie. They are willing to give us a shot BECAUSE we are in KU. tbh the boycott has had very, very little impact on that. There simply isn't a replacement right now, so mostly I've just lost money in service of helping no one.

151

F.A. Ray | MM Romance Author @faray.bsky.social · 23/03/2025

I'll go where my readers are, but right now the overwhelming majority of MM readers are still in KU, so I truly don't know what to do here.

A close-up of an illustration I made for @faray.bsky.social 's newest book Wild Obsession. Just released! You know you want to read this MM Second Chance Enemies to Lovers Rockstar Romance so bad 💦 buy.bookfunnel.com/ur93ae94nf

A digital illustration of two young adult guys doing a kabedon pose in a dark hotel hallway. The guy pinned against the wall has a scared expression but is blushing in enjoyment. He has short dark brown hair, stubble and prominent freckles across his face and neck. He is wearing a basic blue sweater. The dominant guy that is pinning him down is looking intensely directly into his eyes with an arrogant grim on his face. He has hair dyed black, with shaved sides and longer hair at the top falling to the side of his face opposite to the viewer. He is dressed in black leather jacket, a white T-shirt with a deep V neck cut, has an ear full of piercings, as well a couple of metal necklaces and two eyebrow piercings. He's also wearing black metallic rings and black leather bracelets.

Hold the damn line on this, authors. I have dozens of books I can't turn into audio right now because I can't afford to pay a narrator, but I WILL NOT use AI to circumvent them. We all stand together or we all get cooked.
