Sure distance decreases. But people with weak immune systems exist, it's worthwhile to figure out how to reduce risk of infection with potentially deadly pathogens rather than shrug it off. That's the kind of attitude that keeps immunocompromised folks trapped at home during an ongoing pandemic.

Yes ideally we'd have lids on public toilets, upgraded ventilation and far UV light to reduce pathogens in the air. We should all be demanding this from our govt but not enough people even know how much we need it.

If the lid can be closed, close it. But most public bathrooms have toilets with no lids, which is why I wear an N95 in there and all indoor public places since current covid vaccines aren't very effective in preventing infection. Haven't been sick since before the pandemic.

Zohran Mamdani released 170K documents revealing that post-9/11 asbestos levels remained dangerous for months, despite officials saying the air was safe. As we saw at the start of COVID, officials still treat essential workers as expendable. This is a long-overdue step in the right direction.

Any thoughts on Invyvid's upcoming VYD2311 for preventing covid infections? I've been putting a lot of hope into this as it and the Pemgarda it's built off of seems to prevent infection far better than the current vaccines we have. But none of the new vaccine trials seem at all close to done

Friday morning, I was gardening when I checked my phone. A request had gone out for help. For 25+ hours, ICE had been laying siege to a quiet neighborhood in Frederick, MD. Community members were afraid, some didn’t want to leave their homes. ICE vehicles seemed to be lurking on every corner.

Two more ICE vehicles - black Dodge Durango and a white SUV, unclear on make, model - on a quiet residential street, being quietly creepy. Note that the white SUV has its plate covered.

Yet another ICE vehicle. Black Nissan Pathfinder. They were all over the neighborhood.

This is shameful discriminatory and misogynistic reporting. People aren’t choosing disability to be “cool”. Young women don’t have to “prove” to you that they’re sick. Disability rates are skyrocketing because we’ve left a disabling virus rip through the population for over 6 years.
