Supper Mario Broth @mariobrothblog.bsky.social · 12h

A "Portuguese Luigi Disrespect" version of New Super Luigi U was uploaded to Nintendo's servers but replaced before it could be distributed to users. It is completely identical to the final version except that one Toad calls Luigi "Mario" in Portuguese.

On June 20th, 2013, New Super Luigi U was released in Europe as a downloadable update for New Super Mario Bros. U. However, internal files reveal that two weeks prior to this, another version of the game was uploaded to Nintendo's servers, but never pushed to users as an update.
The only difference between the early internal version of NSLU and the final one was that in the early version, one Toad mistakes Luigi for Mario in Portuguese.
Internal "Portuguese Luigi Disrespect" version, June 6, 2013:
Ai, isto é terrível! Alguém roubou as minhas coisas! E ele é tão rápido que não o consigo apanhar! Ajuda-me, Mario!
Final European version, June 20, 2013:
Ai, isto é terrível! Alguém roubou as minhas coisas! E ele é tão rápido que não o consigo apanhar! Ajuda-me, Luigi!
clearly not Mario
Translation:
"Oh, this is terrible! Someone stole my things! And he's so fast that I can't catch him! Help me, Mario!"
Translation:
"Oh, this is terrible! Someone stole my things! And he's so fast that I can't catch him! Help me, Luigi!"
The reasoning for this is almost certainly that the early version was a work in progress while Nintendo made one final check to see if everything was in order, and managed to catch one single mistake. However, it is curious how a version of the game exists that is nearly identical to the final except for not respecting Luigi.

I can't bring myself to gaf about mario kart tour's eos when it was one of the most thoroughly unenjoyable games i actively followed I played it again when the final tour came up, and I felt absolutely nothing, even as someone who spent hundreds of hours on the game

I feel there is an unspoken pact in gacha games, like the playerbase puts up with the gambling in exchange for at least getting a good story, characters or gameplay. Nintendo's gacha games don't have a great track record there.

I'm glad they ported a lot of tracks into Mario Kart 8 Deluxe at least. I... can't say I want to give MKT an eulogy because the point scoring system was genuinely maddening.

Spending $850 vibe coding to-do list apps hoping to get rich is just one notch above spending the money on lottery tickets. While execution is now “free” due to vibe coding, it also means every software category will be hyper competitive. Your AI slop app is just more noise to users.

[Mario Kart Tour] 24 hours left until the game shuts down (Sep 30 at 6 am UTC) as of this post. Nintendo has no plans to release an offline version. Once the servers shut down, the game will no longer be playable (officially, at least).

I've stopped caring about health metrics but seeing the graphs jump and then snap back over a fever day and then the recovery is kinda fascinating

Screenshot of a health tracking app interface featuring two metric cards for "Sleeping heart rate" and "Sleeping heart rate variability," each showing an "Excellent" rating with a blue smiling cloud icon. Both cards display seven-day trend line graphs comparing daily measurements against shaded target zones. Text on screen indicates a sleeping heart rate of 54 bpm and a sleeping heart rate variability of 75 ms.

Both 7-day trend graphs show steady baselines that drastically deviate on the 28th—heart rate spikes sharply upward while heart rate variability plunges downward—before both curves curve back to normal optimal levels on the 29th.

AI companies: We’ve invented an unreliable guessing machine which sometimes doesn’t follow instructions. If you give it access to important systems it could kill us all. Also AI companies: Deploy this technology everywhere and replace your employees with it, otherwise China wins. IPO next month.

It's a slogan that the conservative government we have uses. It means like "My country is transforming and moving ahead" They use it mainly to show off infrastructure projects, I like to reuse it for things they would actually hate
