I'm sympathetic to what Dadaism was attempting and how it was nihilistic & anti-capitalist. And the historical influence I think is significant. But so much of Dadaism, I feel, was ignoring the human spirit to spite it as the source of conflict. Much of that art does not resonate with me at all.

I don't think producers and creative directors deserve some of the salaries we sometimes see if we are lucky (I have a hard time believing anyone should make six figures USD$) but I also don't think most understand what a difficult job it is to tease out something new, unique, or worth publishing.

I'm elevated by some wonderfully talented people who are incredible at their creative specialties and it's difficult to not worry whether I've given them the best materials to work with and create resonant art. Because otherwise the journey doesn't continue.

Having that feeling of deep uncertainty of the self that comes before revealing anything as an artist. Always second guessing yourself, wondering if you couldn't have done better given the time and tools available to you. Hoping there's just one audience member who sees what you see in your work.

As an author, I want to show trans characters in a sympathetic light, but not in a moralizing one. I want to see morally grey characters across humanity. I don't want to fear the politics of portrayal, because I believe that sanctifying queer characters only plays into the far-right's narrative.

But I want to be clear, too: the game is a heck of an achievement and the team should be proud. Particularly as the studio is working on two games at once and Sam Lake was barely involved. This is still a worthy sequel even with its minor disappointments.
