Foreign Minister Þorgerður Katrín Gunnarsdóttir's Speech At The UN On Saturday

Iceland’s Foreign Minister Þorgerður Katrín Gunnarsdóttir spoke at the UN General Assembly on Saturday in a speech that has gone, as they say, viral. On the previous day, Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu spoke, and while he did so, the majority of UN delegates left the hall. To which Netanyahu responded by saying, “If there are any other moral cowards who haven’t left the hall, please do so now.” Iceland’s delegation did not leave the hall and received some criticism for not having done so in solidarity with those nations whose representatives did. However, Þorgerður Katrín did respond in her speech, and without naming names said, “We have heard the words ‘moral cowards’ from this podium. To me, moral cowards are those leaders of the world who refuse to sit down and negotiate a just and lasting peace. Those leaders who deny access to humanitarian aid for people in desperate need. And moral cowards are those leaders of the world who repeatedly go against and disrespect international law.”

According to a new survey by the Movement Advancement Project, approximately 401,000 transgender people have relocated from one U.S. state to another since the 2024 presidential election. The mass relocations in 2025 are due to safety concerns, political conditions, and anti-trans laws and policies that have largely impacted conservative states across the country.

We didn't get to see everything at the provincial fair — we arrived too late to see the seed art or eat apple fries without standing in 2-3 hour lines — but these "Corn Ribs" at Blue Barn were kind of a banger.
