I've also played #boop with my fiance on our most recent vacation and we both loved it! We both each won one game and it was a fun little brain teaser with cute cats! The two books by Margaret Weis were an impulse and she signed them. Never read any of her stuff but I'm excited to read them.

This year I went #gencon with a friend! I got to try #daggerhart for the first time and it's interesting. It'd be a game I'd like to play a little bit more. And these were my pickups! The deck boxes were gifts to my brother along with not pictured a candle to my fiance. Was a bit overcrowded.

I've joined my public library fantasy and sci-fi book club this year to try and broaden my reading so I'm not just stuck in the same author of fantasy all the time. Just went and saw "grave of the fireflies" with @stegozone.bsky.social, and I can confidently say I did not enjoy it. The art style was top notch as always and I feel the story was necessary for the creator. I think it was something he wanted to share but unfortunately I just did not enjoy it.

I also used #thearmypainter spray paint primer. And they turned out pretty good. The chimera mini did require a little extra brush on primer because it was a little harder to hit the underside of that really large mini. And I had to hit some primer spots where the rubber bands were covering.

So I tried something new. I've always used #thearmypainter brushed on primer because I didn't feel like I had the stuff to do spray paint primer. So with two old floor boards, a nut and a bolt, and three washers and several rubber bands, I made a thing. #dnd #minis #miniaturepainting

Back in Aug 2023, thanks to @stegozone.bsky.social encouragement, I started #paintingminiatures for #dnd! This is what my starting setup looks like and my first miniature. My first miniature came with the set and it was Minsc and Boo. He turned out really good and I'm pretty proud of him still. 1/2

Just a simple setup in the utilities room along with all the clutter. The set and the wet pallet is from the army painter. Paper towels to cover any splashes and a paper plate to remove a little extra stuff from the paints.

Two cups, one for normal paints and the other is for metallic paints. Along with a wet palette, brush soap, and a mini holder and I only had one brush that came with a set.

The unpainted look of the mini of Minsc and Boo. The sword came slightly bent but really isn't that big of a deal to me.

My finished version of the mini from the set. He did get a bit of a touch-up a little later before I sealed him up.
