Thanks to all who showed up to support our own @parisaforjustice.bsky.social today as she was deposed by the House Judiciary Committee. She would’ve been be happy to do a transparent public hearing, but was told “no”. This is clear political targeting, but the people have had enough.

"I’m being compelled to sit for a secret closed door deposition tomorrow, Thursday July 16, before a Congressional committee chaired by Rep. Jim Jordan. I’ll appear out of respect for the office I hold while making it clear that I answer to the voters of my community, not to Congress. The people of Arlington County and the City of Falls Church elected me in 2019 in a historic election and re-elected me in 2024. As long as my community grants me the privilege to serve, I will not be bullied nor intimidated by anyone, no matter the federal office they hold or the friends they may have in high places.
