I'm pleased to reveal the cover of MAKING MONSTERS, my grimdark SFF novel and the wildest story I've written so far. The artwork is a breathtaking masterpiece by the one and only @martinabelli.bsky.social who has once again shown that my books and her art are the most perfect match.

A black and red graphic with a hidden artwork as a background. In the middle, the cover of the book MAKING MONSTERS by Freddie A. Clark, depicting a heavily tattooed and blond man with blue eyes, dressed in leather, smoking a cigarette and holding a wooden monster’s severed head. A gun and a kopis are attached to his belt and his arm is affected by argyria, his skin grey-tinted. He walks along a cyberpunk street with writings and blood stains on the wall.

Text:

WHO’S THE REAL MONSTER?

Niko Grigg is a Benandante, a monster and demon hunter for hire. Despite his vices and snappy attitude, Niko is the best on the market. The substance he's addicted to triggers his innate abilities as a Nephilim, contributing to his fame as a highly reliable professional.
When the government of Sulphuria hires him to hunt a dangerous creature lurking in the streets of Hellgate, a maximum-security prison gone wild, Niko accepts the mission for its handsome reward.
His target is not what he expected. After their first encounter, the contract reveals its true objective and puts Niko in front of a choice: should he carry out this execution and grab the money, or become an enemy of the state?

I'm replaying Cyberpunk 2077 after years and the writing in this game is still as good as I remembered. Some stories are so good they make me doubt my own talent as a storyteller. This game is one of them (it doesn't sound like a good thing, but it is in my head, I swear 😂)

He draws his creativity from ‘80s aesthetic, movies and pop culture, and from an endless pile of books, graphic novels, manga and video games. The art of H.R.
