Definitely NOT loving having any Apple watch wearer potentially and invisibly recording every conversation as an habit… ("Siri recap"). Yes it was already possible to record audio, but that had to be started every time, and took storage, both limiting how much this was used.

Check this out. Apple's Music app moved the play controls and progress bar from the top of the app to float at the bottom. Now, there's nothing at the top. It's just blank. Meanwhile, the floating bar at the bottom obscures some content. What sense does this make?

I've been looking at World Cup group stage tables for decades, but it took Apple to make a Sports app to have a design that also shows which teams are definitely qualified/eliminated, and which ones would qualify as things stands.

Really liking the new #infoVis for rain in #iOS27 Weather app. For each day, 12x 2h mini rain gauge, even differentiating day/night, and the current time slot. Lots of info in so few pixels! So much better to plan your activity than having a single "rain" glyph for the full day for a few drops.

#iOS27 has a bold innovative idea to indicate which text is interactive: underlines! Makes total sense when the text is in the middle of the content. Another happy sign that people with an understanding of usability and its history are in charge.
