Thank you to @guttertongue.bsky.social for this absolutely excellent character design! Decades as a petty tyrant proved disappointing: bandits obnoxiously gristly, subjects obnoxiously thankful. So they set off for uncharted lands and the monsters lurking within, hoping for a real challenge.

A character sheet depicting a monstrous fantasy character. They are similar in appearance to an enormous slug, although the front of their body rises up into a humanoid torso, arms, and head. They are tan and brown in color, with their 'mantle' covered in spots and lined with a row of eyestalks. Their gastropod 'foot' is lighter in color, almost a dark yellow. They are capable of rapidly secreting hard metallic 'scales' as a defense, and reabsorbing them back into their body once the threat recedes.

They wear a crude necklace with three animal skulls, a green spotted rag tied around the waist of their humanoid portion. A number of larger monster skulls are tied together with rope and also worn like a belt around their waist. Into the back of their mantle are stuck a number of broken bladed weapons.

The frontal portion of this character's body is protean in nature, and so they have a number of forms. The form they prefer is that of a muscular humanoid woman, although they also sometimes appear as a much skinnier humanoid man. In both cases they have spots on their shoulders, unkempt brown hair, eyes with black sclera and red irises, and dark fingernails. They can also take on any of a number of considerably more monstrous forms should the need arise.

I got this superlative work from @grimmla.bsky.social recently! Thank you so much. The great Guardian Beast knew his quest for vengeance was doomed. He knew, and yet he pursued the heroslayer-demon, for if he did not avenge the forests she had rotted and the waters she had turned sour, who would?

The other is an arthropoidal monstrosity. Her armored grey body is long and segmented; her midsection features legs ending in massive claws. From there, her body elongates into a long, muscular neck, with additional limbs near her head. Her horned head is dominated by two massive sets of mandibles.

The dragon appears to be losing. He is being grappled by his opponent; she is rearing up, with her mandibles clamped onto his neck and one of her hands grabbing onto his snout. He roars in frustration, his clawed feet struggling for purchase upon his foe's armored skin, his arms and wings useless to extricate him from her grip.

The two are fighting within a desolate canyon somewhere in a wasteland. The dusty air glows with a wan light.

Many thanks to @skepsys.bsky.social for another perfect character design! Most ratfolk pirates kit themselves out with cybernetic augments, but some opt for a...fleshier alternative. Nothing quite as satisfying as running through a foe twice your size with a blade hewn from your own sinew and bone.

I got this lovely piece from @ngreentail.bsky.social!!! Thank you so much. Countless are the children of Rushédak, but no matter how distant they wander their hearts always yearn for the homeworld.

The top middle character is a fisherman of sorts. He is tall and lean, and has light brown hair and fur.

The top right character is Anrü, adventurer and descendant of a lineage of forest guardians. He is relatively short and has dark, almost black hair and fur.

The bottom left character is Kaslarul, a private investigator and pit fighter on a distant world. His distant ancestors were demon cultists; such residual corruption manifests in the form of his red pupils, very pointed ears, and stripes on his fur. He has shaggy black hair and is muscular in appearance.

The bottom middle character is Keshral, former slave turned space pirate. He is also quite muscular, with black hair and white fur.

The bottom right character is Shajumésha, a locomotive engineer during a bygone age of kajtlemta industrialization. He is the most muscular of all, and his dark grey fur covers the entirety of his arms as well as much of his chest.

I got this amazing piece from @skepsys.bsky.social!!! Thank you so much. Kaslarul was a detective for a megacorp by day, an amateur pit fighter by night, and he was usually careful to not piss off the wrong people from both those worlds at the same time. Usually.

I still can't believe Tasmania is a real place

I got this most superlative work from @guttertongue.bsky.social! Thank you so much!!! Tasmorei realized too late that, though former demon she might be, she was way in over her head. The most vicious among the infernal host were known as 'heroslayers', and it was a sobriquet well earned.

She wears metal armor covering most of her humanoid body, waist, and back.

Surrounding her is an enormous demonic warrior whose body is long, armored, and segmented, as if a hideous worm or arthropod. The demon's body curls around Tasmorei and their 'head' rears into the air. Emerging from their gaping mandibles like some sort of monstrous tongue is the upper body of a humanoid in the appearance of a woman with dark brown hair, glowing eyes, and otherwise fair countenance.

Tasmorei appears badly wounded. In her right hand she holds the hilt of a shattered sword. One of her tentacles is severed, and she paws ineffectually at her foe with the others. She glares up at the demon, who has positioned their humanoid 'body' above her and is mockingly caressing her chin while smirking at her. The monster part of the demon, though, holds Tasmorei's right arm firmly in the grip of one of its large burly arms.

Thank you so much to @awkwardos.bsky.social for this superlative piece! I am forever grateful. When his quest was finished and the galaxy saved, noble Eslenitrài returned at long last to the world of his birth, building a wondrous garden whose foliage represented the myriad places he had visited.

The so-called 'friendbeasts' roam across both continents of Rushédak, migrating twice a year in vast numbers. The nomadic herders among the wolf-people run alongside them, taking their milk, fur, and meat.

A reference sheet depicting a fictional animal, the so-called migratory 'friendbeast' of great cultural and economic importance to the kajtlemta wolf-people. The creature is a large ungulate quadruped with aspects of aurochs, elk, and prehistoric megafauna. It has a large bulky head with a cow-like nose and small tusks, a massive robust body covered with shaggy fur, a small deer-like tail, and cloven hooves. Its head is crowned with a crest of antlers joined by bone or membrane. It is dun and dark brown in color, with white stripes along its flank and red highlights on its antler crest.

The sheet itself contains the following depictions of the creature: a fullbody of an adult male, a detail view of the adult male's head, a fullbody and detail view of an adult female (with a less robust body and smaller head crest), a fullbody of a baby, and a depiction of a male and two females in full gallop as a gray-furred wolf runs alongside them, trying to herd them.

A character that @sinealas.bsky.social designed for me! Thank you so much!!! The dracofolk civilizations are much diminished from their age of glory, but there are those who still consider themselves treaty-bound to wage war against tyranny and injustice.

Thank you to @guttertongue.bsky.social for this superlative character design! Always the best monsters. The heroslayers are terrifying demons, for aside from their great strength their blood sorcery makes them impervious to most mortal weapons. Some are worshipped by cultists as deities of war.
