Any Human Ever randomly picks an average person from some point in human history and tells you about what their life was like. Mine was a woman born in 1547: “Of all the sounds of her life, the loudest were thunder and the church bells.” [anyhumanever.com]

Near the Ballard Goodwill! I had no idea I was living this close to a celebrity all these years. I hope to see Jimothy art soon along the Tumbletown art fence near that Goodwill.

She is a consumer protection attorney and a community advocate who has been working on national and state issues for years. She has been responsible for bringing hundreds of people to Olympia to lobby their reps for a better state over the last 15 years.

If you’re in the Washington 32nd LD, covering N King & S Snohomish counties: You are a lucky duck who gets to vote for Danica Noble, endorsed by The Urbanist, Fuse, many unions, and all sorts of great orgs.

Joined 750 of my neighbors to take in the US-Australia World Cup match on Juneteenth at a local park. Free ice water, the cleanest portable toilets I’ve seen, spray park on for the kids on a hot day. Thanks Seattle Parks Dept! #seattle #worldcup

Wow this is actually a real headline. I regularly walked a mile up a giant hill because this bus was so unreliable (due mostly to car congestion). It was great for my quads, but imagine being disabled & reliant on this bus line. A long overdue improvement for Seattle.

Went to a rally & walk in support of completing Seattle’s light rail to the Ballard neighborhood. Heartened to see the support from the community & local electeds. Frustrated by Sound Transit for not committing to the system we voted for.
A homemade sign, with the words “no more missing links” at the top and an outline of a heart enclosing the word “Ballard” and a logo of a light railThe photographer is taking a selfie with a homemade sign reading “Ballard” followed by a heart symbol and a light rail icon. Saw some delightful lenticular clouds floating above the Olympic mountains today. Seattle has some great scenery. We see these kinds of clouds often over Mt Rainier, but I’ve not seen them over the Olympics before.

“distillery raises money using crypto” is … a real thing?!? 🥴 (via seattle Inno) Personally, I don’t care about my whisky having “exposure to the biggest opportunities disrupting the asset class.”
A news story from Geekwire, a blurb that reads:

Gig Harbor-based Heritage Distilling Holding
Co. Inc. announced it has raised $223.8 million.

Heritage raised the money through a private investment in public equity (PIPE) financing, which is a means for public companies to sell shares to select investors at a discount.
According to an Aug. 25 news release, $95
million will be cash and $128.8 million will be in the cryptocurrency token $IP, the native token of the blockchain company

Heritage, founded in 2011, makes whiskeys, vodkas, gins, rums and canned cocktails.A screenshot of the heritage distilling website, a blurb reads:

By aligning its reserves with Story’s AI-native infrastructure for registering, licensing, and monetizing IP, Heritage gains exposure to the biggest opportunities disrupting the asset class.

Modern day street view from about the same point. Now there are: trolley buses, a light rail station just over the bridge, two nearby bike trails, an intersection with a major state highway a block away, and lots of cars.

TLDR: AI-generated news erases women’s achievements. Recently a woman was appointed as Interim Executive of King County, WA. She is the first woman in that role & local news mentioned it. I then saw this AI “news” account generated an article…repeatedly calling the exec he/him/his.
A screenshot of a post from “Citizen Portal News Washington.” The image shows a blond woman, the post & linked article refer to this person as he/him/hisScreenshot of the article from citizenportal.ai, referring to Exec Braddock as he/him/his.

There is a note “This article was created by AI using a video recording of the meeting”

TBC because the OP is framing this like libgen is evil: META are the bad guys here. Libgen is one of the only tools archiving rapidly disappearing digital libraries of ebooks. Now more than ever with banned books on the rise, we need resources like libgen. Meta has no right to scrape that archive.

There is the Transit Go App, where you can buy tickets for buses, light rail, etc. No tapping & need to buy the tickets through the app. (Definitely not the same thing as being able to tap the iphone directly like in many major cities.)
