Publication seems a REALLY long way off, but do reach out if you'd like to schedule a book signing, talk, reading, podcast interview, exhibition, or any combination of the above to help get A New Unfeathered Bird off to a flying start next year. 'A celebration of all birds, across all time'.

Humanity did that. Science did that. Publicly-funded research did that. Excellent universities did that. Diversity did that. International cooperation did that. Artemis II is a perfect example of what we can do at our best. Welcome home, Integrity crew!

#Artemis II lunar flyby images are showing up! 😍 A crescent Earth setting behind the Moon.
Earthset captured through the Orion spacecraft window at 6:41 p.m. EDT, April 6, 2026, during the Artemis II crew’s flyby of the Moon. A muted blue Earth with bright white clouds sets behind the cratered lunar surface. The dark portion of Earth is experiencing nighttime. On Earth’s day side, swirling clouds are visible over the Australia and Oceania region. In the foreground, Ohm crater has terraced edges and a flat floor interrupted by central peaks. Central peaks form in complex craters when the lunar surface, liquefied on impact, splashes upwards during the crater’s formation.

Most dental floss contains PFAS. But PFAS are linked to serious health conditions. Colorado, Maine, Minnesota, & Vermont have already banned the sale and distribution of PFAS-containing dental floss. Good news: more bans are coming stateside. 🎨 Use Less/ Useless by @eyeforscience.bsky.social

Was thinking earlier today how the art materials industry is still in thrall to early-factory Industrial period norms (“bristle brush for oil, soft for watercolour”) influenced by the Impressionist era. Knowledge grows so quickly but norms are moribund an slow to change. 🐡🎨

currently working on expanding this art infographic showing 75+ years of global plastic production - Each quilt represents the amt of virgin #plastic we produced worldwide in a given year. 8 data points take up 18ft of wall—when I show it in 2027 in Tulsa it will be MUCH bigger!! #sciart 🐡🌎
Induced Demand by Kalliopi Monoyios. An art infographic consisting of 8 large circular quilts made from single use plastic. Each quilt is sized according to how may million metric tons of plastic were produced globally in a given year. Each quilt has a colorful center with a thick white border — the color represents approximately 35-40% that was destined for packaging, shorthand for single-use.
