It was always unlikely the sonic movies would pull from something as obscure as the Fleetway comic, but man it would have been cool to see their Sonic 3 story play out. Knuckles actually pilots Angel Island and uses it to attack the Death Egg. This double page spread had me in awe as a kid.

Angel Island from Sonic 3 fills the background of a two-page spread from the UK's Fleetway Sonic the Comic. An electric light rises out from the islands mountains and concentrates into a large beam of energy fired at Robotnik's Death Egg. The colossal machine is rocked and shattered by the blast, glass and debris scattering in all directions, light pouring from one of the egg's eyes. In the foreground Sonic free falls reaching out for the master emerald while being pursued by Eggrobos all firing beam weapon at him. A speech bubble from Sonic reads: "Man. It looks like it's all over for the Death Egg! But it doesn't look like I'm going to be around to celebrate, 'cause it's a LONG WAY DOWN!"

🩷 LESBIAN VISIBILITY DAY 🩷 Happy Lesbian Visibility Day from Femininomenon! In a world where lesbians, bisexual women, and all queer women are marginalized and discriminated against, we want to take this opportunity to honor them. Here's to all queer women; may you never be silenced!

A Lesbian Visibility Day graphic for the Femininomenon fanzine with a magenta-to-purple checkered gradient background and pink accents.

Art shows four lesbian Sonic couples. On the left are Whisper the Wolf and Tangle the Lemur; Whisper is holding a Sapphic pride flag, and Tangle is holding a large Progress pride flag and has her arm around Whisper's shoulder. To their right are Amy Rose and Tekno the Canary; Amy is wearing her Fleetway/Sonic the Comic outfit, with a carabiner attached to her belt and two woman symbols linked on her shirt, and their arms are linked. To their right, in the middle of the composition, is Sally Acorn, who has a large lesbian feminism/Labrys pride flag around her shoulders. Nicole the Holo-Lynx floats behind her, and they are smiling at each other. In the background, positioned above Tangle and Amy, are Rouge the Bat and Agent Topaz. Rouge is carrying Topaz, who is blushing and looks startled. There is a lesbian pride flag sweeping from the top left corner of the art to Nicole's hand, where it dissolves into pixels. The background of the art is a top-to-bottom gradient from dark pink, through orange, to a light yellow. Purple flower petals are scattered through the air.

I gotta say that I'm kind of a sucker for the distorted double trope. It might make for compelling storytelling, and it can result in visually interesting stuff in terms of designing the double.

You know... we really need to give the Fleetway Sonic the Comic issues more love. We all like to talk about Archie and IDW but Fleetway doesn't get that amount of talk aside from some talks about weird lore and retcons.

I know I'm not the only one who misses the days when Amy Rose was a '90s British lesbian.

I’ve started collecting the old Fleetway Sonic the Comic’s. I used to send my drawings in hoping they’d get picked for the art page, but looking back I clearly wasn’t using the right style to capture the editors’ eyes

Issue #1 of Sonic the Comic, with a retro sonic style cartoon, and free stickers still attached to the cover

Issue #131 of Sonic the Comic with a slightly updated art style with Amy Rose in combat trousers, but no stickers

The art page from issue #131, with a voluptuous Tails in an England flag dress

At this point I am starting to wonder if people making their big ideal fan rosters of Sonic charas include Super Sonic from Sonic the Comic to avoid any criticism "yeah, I put 5 Archies, but look, I put Fleetway in, he's important too" (his name is not Fleetway) (no, he isn't, just like the Archies)

Probably an incomprehensible post but... Lowkey can I say I really don't like Outcome Memories model for Super Sonic (STC) Infact I don't think I've seen a single model of Fleetway's Super Sonic that properly gets his spines correct.

A panel from Sonic The Comic's story line adapation of Sonic & Knuckles, it features Super Sonic punching the head off the Metallix based off Mecha Sonic.

The spines on his head are angular and instead of giving Super Sonic his usual "three spine silhouette" it gives him a much more unique silhouette consisting of one large spine that "curves" upwards where the two side spines would be, alongside the large spine at the top of his head following its natural curve.

His head's silhouette is much more closer to Metal Sonic's (or rather The Metallix as they're referred by in this comic) in concept.

A panel from Sonic The Comic's "Running Wild" story line, it features Super Sonic standing wide while grimacing off to the side.

The spines and fur on his head are splitting and unstable, similar in look and probably intended to be conveyed like it's unyielding static and thunder, a constantly moving unstoppable force.

A screenshot of Outcome Memories' Fleetway Super Sonic model in-game from the side.

His spine count has been standardized to give him Sonic's usual 3 spine silhouette from the side, alongside depicting his usually fluctuating split ends of fur/spines as instead being several static pieces that make for a rather ugly silhouette.

Like somewhat angular it's not particularly close to how Sonic The Comic would illustrate it.

I love the Sonic the Comic Fleetway Amy Rose design! I'm not sure who thought to give her a kilt, but I think it's great. Also, it's funny that US Archie Amy's cousin is basically Robin Hood, and UK Fleetway Amy fights with a bow and arrows! #SonictheHedgehog #AmyRose
