Yeah, the cover mechanic is not fleshed out and difficult to use at all on non-Titans, I do agree there. But it's still remarkable how well the low barrier on Titan works, just drop it and you can tank a ton. I don't find Destiny 2 hard; some Warlock Devour builds make you unkillable outside GMs.

I largely disagree. The game does have a cover mechanic, but most people don't use it (only Titans with the low barricade automatically take a knee). But you can absolutely outmaneuver, use cover by getting behind something etc, and everything PvE is super easy.

"Chicagoland area" just flows better and indicates you're talking about the area, not the Chicagoland amusement park? People also talk about "PIN numbers" when "PIN" itself contains the "number". Language is evolving . For instance, you can literally use literally to mean figuratively now.

Sounds more like they're putting it in a state where it has the campaign back and is a more coherent experience, rather than massive future development, but we can hope. Campaign, plus more guidance/drip-feeding DLC content would make it much more approachable for newbs and add longevity.

I mean... Destiny 2 is arguably the best co-op looter shooter ever made. Bungie leadership has mismanaged it egregiously for half a decade, though. The people who created it are mostly/entirely gone (no idea which). Marathon was 100% a mistake, to boot. The game is great. Management, less so.

By default, Nextcloud is just a stack of php, MariaDB and nginx or Apache, and any files stored locally are stored on whatever filesystem is provided, so if you regularly dump the SQL database and local files to a backup (maybe Wasabi) you can recover. Install a new NC server, recover SQL and files.

Wasabi is an S3 compatible storage thing, much like Amazon S3 except not insanely pricey. $8 per TB and month at the moment. So not free but it's fast enough to use interactively. So the files would be fine; any files stored on the local drive need backing up, though.

I solved it with a VPS on Hetzner, Nextcloud and Wasabi S3 on the back end. Not the absolutely cheapest and there's administration but I enjoy it.

Still not as bad as the Youtube channels that are 100% done with AI - graphics, video content and voice over and all. Truly, we are living the end days. I like some uses for AI, like assisting with doing IT stuff (it reads the manual so I don't have to) but generative stuff sucks in capitalism.

#Youtube is very rapidly becoming unusable. With #AI content just being bombarded at you, from channels that at first glance look human operated, every Youtube visit is an exercise in feeling tricked and disgusted by AI slop when you thought you were getting actual content.

But I guess in sunny climates (and not in America, where the state screws the people immensely) you can buy cheap solar panels. Americans can buy extremely expensive ones with a side of crippling bureaucracy.

I'm genuinely not that concerned about LLM's killing us, as they stand. We're already killing us very efficiently, either way, without them. Capitalism, now that's a pure human annihilation machine, and that I believe will get the job done between insane incentives and no regard for sustainability.

Even £10k is hideous thievery by big pharma, then. But at least in a civilized nation it doesn't come out of the ill persons pocket. My mother spent a month in hospital before she passed and it cost maybe 200 euros, mostly taxi fare. And this system costs the nation way way less than the US hell.
