The debut of my partial of John Blackfoot at Anthrocon! Polaroids done by @mostlyzoe.bsky.social and suit by @zulayawolf.bsky.social! Well, most of the outfit I scavenged myself! Of course, John stars in my novel Aces High, published by @fenrispublishing.bsky.social and available now! :3

A Polaroid picture of a cowboy cougar male partial fursuiter dressed in period-accurate clothing and with double revolver holsters at his hips, sitting a stiff, stereotypical 1890s photograph pose on a stone table in a mixed concrete-and-flora environment looking at the camera.

Tattoo Ideas. I don't have any ink myself (fundy-Christian upbringing and all that) but I had ideas for some tatts if I ever got any, maybe one day I will get these. More info in their alts. #art #design #tattoo #skull #SDV #gaming #cicada #gay #pride

The image shows a black line style tatto on a peach/fleshy background. It is a wodden shield with metal trim bolted to it, at its center is a sword surrounded by twelve stars. Above the sword is a scroll that reads "SDV - AG" standing for "Stardew Valley Adventurers' Guild". Below the sword is a scroll that reads "PT - CH" standing for "Pelican Town Chapter".

Artist notes:
"Stardew Valley, Adventurers' Guild" tatt idea. It's not as old as the first, but SDV was a milestone game for me because I was introduced to it at a time when I was starting to no longer demonize games and media and actually start to enjoy them without any guilt. Long story short: I was inspired to make this Adventurers' Guild themed tatt.

The image shows a skull in a black ink line style on a peach/flesh tone background with a banner that wraps around and through the eye sockets of the skull and reads "All things crumble and fade, so Make it Beautiful".

Artist notes:
"Art is Forever". This is a redo of a design I came up with years ago, rephrased but still a sentiment I hold dearly.

The image shows a three tone, black shaded style tattoo on a peach/fleshy tone background. It's a cicada with its wings spread, the with the colors of the men-loving-men pride flag, dark blue, light blue, white, light green, and deep green.

Artist notes:
"Ci-GAY-da" This year I discovered a cicada molting just outside my shed and was blown away as his carapace began to dry that he maintained his subtle colors in almost the exact arrangement as the mlm pride flag, hence the name. Struck by the profound symbolism I was immediately inspired to design this tattoo. I don't know if the pale green would even be possible but it would be really cool. All add a pic of my ci-gay-da friend too.

The photo shows a freshly molted cicada, it is pale green and has blue and green edges on its wings that resemble the gay pride flag.

Blue Recluse, ColoNuevo Spiderman So in the vein of non-furry art, have some Spiderverse fanart. More deets in the alt and on FA and Tumblr. #fanart #spiderman #spiderverse #oc #spideroc #spidersona

The image shows a spiderman-like character in blue tights, a red sleeveless hooded shirt with an emblazoned spider, sturdy pants and boots, a knitted hat, and is swinging from electric-blue webs over a snowy mega-city. Text on the page reads "ColoNueva: Earth 3151215" and "The Blue Recluse"

Artist note:
It goes without saying that I'm a huge Spiderman fan, and the Blue-Recluse was my self-insert back in the early nineties when I was first getting into Spiderman comics and animated series. Back then I was super inspired by the different Spidermen from their respective realities, and I made a butt-ton of my own Spidermen that were based around various gimmicks and genres. I had a cloak-wearing, sword-wielding Medieval Spiderman, an orange-and-red Spiderman who's color-scheme was based on an orb-weaver spider, and I even had my own flavor of Spider-Punk before I knew he was an actual version (the current Spider-punk, however, is way better than mine. lol)

More non-furry fanart from a few years back. More deets in the alt and over on FA and Tumblr. #art #fanart #AvaWarriorNun

The image shows a young woman in leather armor as she leaps into the air, a glowing blue sword ready to swing down, and golden light radiating from behind her light angelic wings. Large text above her read "Ava: Warrior Nun".

Artist notes:

A while back, my sister introduced me to this show and it was pretty fun and so I did this for her birthday. I was definitely reminded of the manga Chrono Crusade, and was waiting for the show to introduce a hot, demon lord, but I was pleasantly surprised with the ultimate direction the show took.

Jeez, I didn't realize that although I had written up blurbs and such for these that I had failed to actually upload them... More deets on my FA and such, and in the alts. #art #fanart #cosmere #mistborn #stormlightarchives

The image shows a young woman with a determined look on her face as she strides toward the viewer, ethereal blue lines going out from her while large wooden doors shatter at her approach. She has two obsidian daggers in her hands, is barefoot, and wears a billowing cloak of gray, ribboned cloth.

Artist notes:
Vindictive.

I said I should post some of my non-furry stuff, and I figured I better make good on that before I forget again.

My Bestie-from-another-nestie got me into Brandon Sanderson's Mistborn and I was immediately hooked. It took me a fair bit to figure out how I wanted to show my love for this series, but over one of my bestie's birthdays this scene popped into my memory and made for the perfect b-day gift.

If you know the scene and character you'll understand the pun that is the title "Vindictive".

If you like the idea of metal-based superpowers in a sort of pre-Victorian setting then I can highly recommend this series.

Mistborn was also very instrumental in helping me understand my own superpowers' dynamics in my comic "The Next Beginning" and not be so afraid of their visibility in my story. See "Divine Hands".

The image shows a man levitating in the middle of a storm, his dark hair and blue uniform are lashed by the rain and wind, his eyes glowing in a white light as a bolt of lightning flashes behind him. He wields an ethereal spear in his right hand, and in his left a spritely woman floats and glows the same brilliant white light as the man's spear and eyes.

Artist notes:
Stormblessed

Next in my chain of Cosmere fanart is none other Kaladin Stormblessed.

Talk about a fun series, coming off of Mistborn I knew I was in for a treat when I started "The Way of Kings".

I won't gush too much about this, but I started this as another b-day gift for a friend and was so fascinated by Kaladin, and rooted for him so hard in this scene in the book.

Grove Tortoises Nature Journal Page 2 WIP While I navigate a bout of bad pain and other shullbit, I should take some time to post somethings that I have had waiting in the wing. So have some more Grove Tortoise WIPs. More info will be om my FA and such if I can get to it, or in the Alts.

The image shows an juvenile grove tortoise at the foot of an adult with a tiny sapling sprouting on the back of its shell.
The image also shows the carcass of a deceased elder grove tortoise, the roots of its tree spilling over the edge of its shell, while two figures explore the old skeleton.

Artist notes:
Not as much in the way of info as the first page yet, but page 2 is just going to go over their life-cycle: how a young tortoise gets its first sapling, average life-span, and the event of an elder GT's death.

The image shows a mostly empty chart on the left that lists different tree species like cedar and spruce, white oak, maple, apple, red oak, elm, willow, and mangrove; an undefined map legend in the middle; and a map showing general forest density in green, and migration paths in red.

Artist notes:
I wasn't planning on this page being double-wide, but in the process of trying to plan out the migration patterns of the different GTs I realized I needed more space for the legend and basic info.

Side note: working on this page made me have to reconsider and adjust the geography of my map, so now I'll need to fix my main map to match this. lol.

Little WIP of my next Nature Journal installment. More deets in the alts and on my FA and such. #furry #worldbuilding #fantasy #dieselpunk #comic #TNB #TheNextBeginning

Grove Tortoises Illustration

The original piece I did for my fantasy creatures Grove Tortoises. This shot of would-be naturalists documenting the enormous beasts and escorted by rangers was what would go on to inspire me to do the nature journal entries for my spider-foxes/wolves.

Alt text:
The image shows a herd of giant tortoises with trees on there backs moving slowly from right to left, ranging in sizes from young tortoises with nothing but a sapling on their shells to gigantic elder tortoises with as many as five full-grown Oaks on their backs.
In the midground a group of aspiring naturalists photograph and record their observations, one is an adult Earth(brown furred) anthro wolf and is standing near an elder tortoise with a red-and-white measuring pole that doesn't even reach the edge of the tortoise's shell, while another Earth(brown furred) anthro wolf records the first with a camera, and the third is an Earth(brown furred) anthro lion directing the others with a notebook in his hand
In the foreground stands two rangers dressed in green watching over the group. The one on the left is a Sun(yellow furred) anthro badger and the one on the right is an Earth(brown furred) anthro fox.

Nature Journal: Grove Tortoises WIP

The piece that started me on my whole recording my world building notes as a sort of nature journal was this illustration I did of my Grove Tortoises. It didn't contain any of my notes or give any additional information but it was none-the-less key in helping me visualize the sheer scale of the creatures, and was a fun way to give some context for such a comparison. It did, however, explain nothing about them other than their existence in my world of Fragment.

So after wrapping up the journal pages for my Spider Wolves/Foxes I decided to give the same treatment to my Grove Tortoises but its gonna take me a bit and I figured I would at least give a sneak peek at the first page of the four I have planned.

I will refine the text later but it helps me put things in order for the finished piece. For now, enjoy the glimpse of what is to come. If you can read my handwriting that is.

Alt text:
the image shows the title "Grove Tortoises", a giant tortoise with tree growing on its back and an average anthro wolf by it for scale, a top view cross-section of the tortoise's bowl-shaped shell, baby tortoises emerging from their eggs, and various handwritten notes regarding the creatures.

the notes read from top left down and then right are as follows...
Note one: "Trees grow in a perpetual swept-back state due to the constant brushing against other tortoises and trees."
Note two: "In their early stages grove tortoises subside on shoots and young plants, but as they mature they will begin eating shrubs and saplings."
Note three: "Having no males, Grove Tortoises reproduce parthenogenically. Meaning that offspring are copies of their mother."
Note Four: weight symbol, "15,241 arks (aprox 30 tonnes)"
Note five: "A G.T.'s shell grows progressively more around its edge, resulting in the unique 'bowl-like' shape."

A blue and gold, Eastern, anthro dragon hovers over the surface of a mountain lake. With the cloudy, dusk sky overhead, a gentle stream of water arches over his head from one hand to the other. He has a Garnet heart stone, and delicate, white flowers entwining his horns. This is a concept of merging the zodiacs Aquarius and Earth Dragon.

CHANUR’S HOMECOMING (1986) Acrylic on Watercolor Board - 30” X 18” The biggest challenge painting alien creatures is finding ways to communicate information about the way they think via gestures available to their peculiar forms. 1/4

A tall alien in dark hooded robes points across a cavernous, futuristic space, giving directions to a group humanoids with cat-like heads. The Kif has gray skin, a long dragon-like snout, and red eyes. The Hani have muzzles like lions and ears pointed back. The hair draping from their cheeks forms modest manes, falling flat at shoulder length. The most prominent Hani stands with regal bearing while the rest of the group is poised for action on the ramp behind it. Exposed from the waist up, the lithe musculature of the Hani is covered in short golden fur. Its red pants are cuffed above the calf, and it holds a snubbed nosed laser pistol at its thigh. Accents of gold can be seen in a simple thin band around its upper arm and a thicker bracelet around its wrist. A dark furred ape-like humanoid stands above the pack with eyes lost in thought, closely following the directions of the Kif, while a bearded blonde human glances sideways toward the viewer.

Art dump 2/2 of my CP2077 fan concepts. More deets in the alts and on my FA and Tumblr.

Image: a reference sheet of a male, cyborg, anthro dragon with enlarged shots of his back and wings, feet, muzzle, and tail-tip.The left and bottom cells of the sheet show the potential cyberware he could use, and the top and bottom-left show what type of frame it is and similar frames.

Description: CyberPunk 2077 Exotics Concept: Dragon/Reptile Bio-Sculpts

Of course this is my fav (Keep Calm, and Dragon), this would definitely be my preferred Sculpt. I just love the idea of being able to glide overhead of all the baddies and smoke their asses so bad that Johnny Silverhand is telling me to ease off a bit.

But if giving "Reign of Fire" a whole new meaning isn't your jam, or if you'd rather give another element its fair shake then you might wont to try:

-Tyger Klawz' Lung Wangs that might not have the firepower or hangtime of their winged counterparts but can make up for it in faster reflexes and extended dashes,
-Wraith Basilisks that have venom-laced claws a/o mantis blades,
-Maelstrom Salamanders that leave walls of fire in their wake,
-Corpo Gargoyles that can tank a rocket to the face and drop from the heavens like a meteor,

And of course lets not overlook the muzzle-mounted chem launcher that handles toxic sludge as well as napalm, and the prehensile tail that'd warm a Draco's wounded heart.

Image: a reference sheet of a female, cyborg, anthro feline with enlarged shots of her eyes, hand and feet claws, and her tail. The left and bottom cells of the sheet show the potential cyberware she could use, and the top and bottom-left show what type of frame it is and similar frames.

Description: CyberPunk 2077 Exotics Concept: Feline/Cat Bio-Sculpts

And last but not least, the Felid Bio-Sculpt. Icons of stealth and surprise, I can see Sculpts like this being very Cool and Reflex based combatants. And their variants would be just as -if not more- awesome as their stock frames.

-Tyger Klawz that are actual Tigers that are able to jump onto opponents from ten meters away and crack cyberware with their impressive bight-force,
-VDB Panthars that can slip from shadow to shadow as easily as they can stab you in the neck,
-Maelstrom HellCats that have enough optic power to practically see through walls,
-Mox PussyCats with lightning fast reflexes that can weave under any defense to deal fast and devastating attacks,

All these would also most like have things like the near-infrared infused optics for improved night vision, self adjusting gyros that can balance the user on some of the narrowest of ledges and help them get up even faster if they ever get staggered or knocked down.

Art dump 1/2 of some CP2077 fan concepts I had. More deets on these on these in their respective posts over on my FA and Tumblr, and in the alts of each image.

Image: a reference sheet of a female, cyborg, anthro crow with enlarged shots of her wings, talons, and beak. The cells of the left and bottom list potential cyberware, and the top and bottom-left show the form's type and other similar types of frames.

Description: CyberPunk 2077 Exotics Concept: Crow/Avian Bio-Sculpts

This one was fun just for the wings. I play an Air-Dash/Kerenzekov build, and I just love anything that would give me more air-time to pop off headshots from well above any cover. Like the boots you can get from Rogue that have retro-thrusters that negate almost any fall damage, hence my incorporation of them into this Sculpt's feet.

But again, there are so many fun variants to this type of build:

-Nomad ThunderBirds that have electrified weapons and rain down lead and EMPs from the sky,
-VDB Harpies that can dish out paralysis, signal jamming, and sonic shocks from the rooftops like it's Mardi-forckin'-gras,
-Valentino Aguilas dive-bombing and smashing you to the pavement,

Definitely a Sculpt that'd be preferred by snipers and netrunners that want a quick getaway.

Image: a reference sheet of a male, cyborg, anthro canine with enlarged shots of his muzzle, hand and claws, and ears. The left and bottom cells of the sheet show the potential cyberware this frame could use, and the top and bottom-left cells show the frames type and similar types of other frames.

CyberPunk 2077 Exotics Concept: Wolf/Dog Bio-Sculpts

I know this is just a generic dog/wolf (but cyborg!), but like the Bovid shows us there can be so much opportunity for some really awesome variants:

-NCPD LTs as full-on Dobermans as a PR effort to relate them to the 'Safe and Sound' adverts,
-Bouncers at the 'Heavy Hearts' club as actual Jackals,
-Maelstrom Hell Hounds that can actually set themselves on fire through their 'Hades Heat-Vents',
-Bargast Enforcers being real dog-soldiers,

Not to mention the "stock" hardware that one might have on a Canid Sculpt like I suggest on this sheet: Reinforced jaw muscles for a devastating bite, Titanium teeth and claws that can tear into cyberware, an Aero-chem spectrometer in the muzzle's nasal cavity to smell explosives in the area and track down marks, and audio boosters that can hear the microscopic whine of a hidden attacker's cyberware.

That's just dog-gone nifty if you ask me...

Ok, I'll see myself out and move on to the next one...

Image: a reference sheet of a male, cyborg, anthro bull with enlarged shots of his hocks and the back of his skull. The left and bottom cells of the sheet show the potential cyberware this frame could use, and the top and bottom-left cells show the frames type and similar types of other frames.

Description: CyberPunk 2077 Exotics Concept: Bull/Heavy Bio-Sculpts

In addition to a slough of potential in-game hardware that a Bovid might use, I've added such things as kinetic padding for the cranium, reinforced vertebrae, charge assist boosters, and tungsten horns. And these could all be in different states of usability depending on what variant of Bovid the user is:

-Maelstrom Minotaurs with IR and night-vision implants that can see through cover as well as knock it down,
-Valentino Toros with additional lunge distance,
-Corpo Stags with holographic antlers (I see you 'Magnum Bullets', sneaking in like that.)!

An anthropomorphic possum plays a large metal handpan drum in a small interior. His hands, feet, and nose are pink flesh, his ankles forearms, backs of hands, tops of feet have dark fur, and top of head has dark hair. He is looking down at the instrument while his hands blur mid drumming, with a gentle pleased expression on his face. I hate using the word "cozy" because of all the videogame marketing I've experienced, but unfortunately I would describe this environment as "cozy". It is almost cramped. The space behind the character has a circular ceiling with a pattern moving around. Music production equipment appears just behind each shoulder. A triangle is loosely implied behind the character's head.

Here's the last reference sheet done by @exleston.bsky.social for Aces High! Three lesser characters who contributed to the story - and one who has one act left - in John's life. Going forward, we'll have some special stuff to post! So stay tuned!

A trio of reference sheets. Below it is labeled as Norman MacMillan, Alfred Verne, and David Little, corresponding to the three depictions on the sheet. All are anthro animals. All are male. In the back, the largest is a bison in simple frontier clothes clutching the strap to a Springfield 1884 trapdoor rifle. Bottom left is a boar with a buzzed razorback wearing rumbled, dirty, heavily-patched clothing. His one hand holds a simple hat while the other holds a wicked stick of dynamite. A cigarette is clenched in his snout and the marks of cirrhosis flower in his cheeks. The last, bottom right, is a thin donkey in similar clothes to the first, though he has a gunbelt instead of a rifle. He looks young and a bit dumb, his mane cut and combed almost into a human-like hairdo.

The image shows Beatrice Montgomery, an anthro female European badger, dressed in sturdy yet clean men's clothes of the 19th century, brandishing a cruel looking club in her hand. Behind her is a scene of a Georgian, Antebellum house, it is clean and glows white in the southern afternoon sun. Beside Beatrice is the card The Ace of Clubs, the center suit replaced with the visages of her and her brother in mirrored poses, her side is in the upright position and has her brandishing a revolver. Above Beatrice is her felt hat and her to revolvers.

So, I decided to write that spicier short story featuring John taking the son of an industrialist the gang robs as a partner. It's not an aspect of writing I'm used to, but it's a scene I've been dreaming of. Icon done by @exleston.bsky.social! If you like this, check out my novels!

It was such a pleasure to work on these, by far some of the most fun character sheets I've ever done!
