The worst part about remote work is how brutal it is to do comedy bits when everyone has their mics muted and you can't see their reactions. For the sake of the needy comedians at your job, please unmute your mic and throw in some pity laughs. Thank you for your attention to this important matter.

I think it is beautiful to imagine that the Whore of Babylon could have been originally inspired by a specific person. Can you imagine fucking so many people that you spook Christians for 2000+ years? Absolute Legend.

Yeah and I hate to criticize him, but he really should've dressed in a tanooki suit or something.

Controversial opinion but I think it's about time that someone exposes themselves to radiation, dresses up in some kind of animal themed outfit, develops a theme song for themselves, and actually does something about the billionaires who are ruining the world.

It's funny how AI tech bros are all like "soon AI will be able to perform all human labor" and the next sentence is never something like "and that's why we can easily move to a 32 hour work week now."

cool cool. hey quick question though, if you were writing a sci fi about an ultra intelligence computer that made human intelligence obsolete, would it know that Saturday is next to Sunday? Or would it mindlessly agree that you can workout two days in a row with "48 hours rest" between workouts.

What's funny is that when I last checked if it could solve this, around a year ago, I had to prime it before suggesting 4 days a week myself. This time it straight up suggested 4 days a week itself. And for those unacquainted with the greatest documentary history: www.youtube.com/watch?v=eECj...

AI executives are saying we are approaching the singularity, but AI still can not solve the "dumbest boy alive" problem, i.e. knowing that Saturday is next to Sunday, i.e. the dumbest argument in the history of the internet as outlined by @jonbois.bsky.social So yeah I think we are safe for now.
Yes — for most people, a full-body workout every other day is perfectly safe and can be an effective schedule.

That works out to roughly 3–4 workouts per week, for example:

Sunday — Full body
Tuesday — Full body
Thursday — Full body
Saturday — Full body
Sunday — repeat

The ~48 hours between sessions generally gives your muscles enough time to recover, provided the workouts aren't excessively demanding.Yes. A 4-day-per-week full-body workout on an every-other-day schedule is generally fine, assuming you're recovering well.

Your schedule of Sunday → Tuesday → Thursday → Saturday gives you about 48 hours between workouts, which is a reasonable recovery period for most people.

The main caveat is that the amount and intensity of work matters more than the calendar. If you're consistently getting stronger, not excessively sore, and feeling recovered by the next session, there's no inherent problem with doing full-body workouts 4 days a week.

This is an important point that people often want to not talk about. Using the observation and rationality Aristotle could have been justified in such a belief. In fact, Russell thought Africans were inferior for similar reasons early on, but later changed his mind when presented with more evidence.

Protip: if at any point in your life you cohabitated with a raccoon, bring it up as early and often as possible.

The maddest I ever got at a coworker was when this guy who I worked with for years suddenly brought up that he grew up with a pet raccoon. My dude....why did you not bring this up earlier?? This whole time we should have been talking about your raccoon's shenanigans, instead of emails and meetings.

I love how they make predictions like 5 years out. It takes 5 years minimum to build a large bridge these days, and they think they are going to have whole ass factories on the moon, when they can't even land on the moon yet? They couldn't even make an AAA video game ABOUT moon factories that fast.

Was watching a space video and they dude was like "one light year is about 9 trillion kilometers." And then he goes on to say "or around 6 trillion miles". Okay thanks my dude, my American mind was having a hard time visualizing that in kilometers, but now I got it. How many football fields though?

Nah I said the atmosphere of "Wild West" stupidity. Today the stupidity is organized, directed, co-opted, concentrated, reinforced, amplified by algorithms, harnessed by corporations, etc. Back then it was just pure, unfiltered thoughts from some dumbass across the world. Much better.

Today, someone would just point out that Mike Tyson was a 220 lb World Champion, and Bruce Lee was a 120 lb actor, and they would get more votes and that would end the argument. Back then no one could tell who was winning the argument, so it could carry on forever.

One thing that was great about those old forums was that there were no votes, so no one could tell just much of a moron everyone else thought they were. Really creates a Wild West atmosphere of stupidity that is missing today.

If any young people want to know what the early Internet was like, it was mostly visiting random website about stuff like Why Ninjas Are So Awesome, and getting into 68 day long arguments on their forum with some guy named shaolin_master69 about whether Bruce Lee could have beat up Mike Tyson.

Zero percent of people reading the Odyssey were picturing Matt fucking Damon in their mind's eye. Zero. Not going to watch three hours of that shit.

The core of existential despair is contained within the fact that we only get to live once. Life comes and goes, each minute never to return. And the worst part is, none of our life gets to be lived in the Sombrero Galaxy.

100% in favor of this. I'm sure it will get even BETTER reviews and make even MORE money than Christopher Nolan's version. It will prove once and for all that morons with a computer can create art better than artist.
