Sonic Adventure was already ported to PC. Twice! It's on Steam! You can buy it! You can use mods to bring it to the first PC version. What the fuck do we need a slop coded recomp for?!

its nice spearheading the only gaming device "modding" "scene" that doesnt suck complete ass rn (imo). it sure is tiring shutting out countless slop plugins but at least im not letting it get to my head enough to stop keeping everything as open as i can. we need to fix the scenes. im getting tired.

The GenAI epidemic spreading across retro gaming circles exposes something: Making the scenes unfriendly to queer/trans/furries by giving a pass to unpleasant people and bigots in the past has left them without the networks of creators LGBT-friendly communities have access to and self-support with.

you arent a burden. you are a human being with wants and needs. having desires does not make you selfish. unless you are sonic, in which case you are not human and everything you do sickens me.

Magical Drop 3 (Neo Geo/Saturn/Playstation/Neo Geo Pocket Color)
va11-halla (PC)

Silk Road 2 (X68000)
Magical Drop 6 (PC, Modern Platforms)
Lightening Force/Thunder Force IV (Genesis)
Thunder Force II (X68000/Genesis)

Now, hear me out, if many developers could figure out the "hard to program" Saturn without GenAI in the mid-late 90s, then so can many of these projects Especially machine translated patches, I said sometime ago, it's basically localizing a movie script with google translate

I doubt AI generated music will ever match the characteristics of real instruments, especially if it was tasked to imitate a specific FM chip, like the YM2612's internal DAC flaw, the fact that most FM chips can only hard pan left or right, the differences of the different noise channels, etc...

010

Exceliza @exceliza.bsky.social · 16/09/2026

Somewhat unhinged rant on gen AI: I hate generative AI being shoved down my fucking throat. It's not the best thing since sliced bread. People who use gen AI go make shit and claim it as their own are at best okay wordsmiths, not fucking artists or (in my area) musicians.

I've seen people say that Gen AI is a tool. NO. Things like Photoshop, Blender, etc etc are tools used by artists. With Gen AI, the AI is the "artist". You're just the plebe commissioning the piece. I can't imagine anyone being proud of something they came up with using Gen AI.

i do like old-game styled music, really just anything with an FM chip, for mostly fun; maybe i'll post gameplay and other stuff here also all of the music on this channel is all human made, even then...
