LOVED POD RACER. Its top of my non-VR pile atm. Congrats on making a beautiful thing, miss your art <3 Only challenge is to get PS5 version or PC version and look at VR mods.

Balance assistance ux assistance and memory vs annotation in puzzle design is tough. Would be curious from my puzzle design friends what's your vibe? Any personal rules?

I will say it again only Apple and Sony make top level product design XR desperately needs. I would kill for a VITA VR device. Also we can debate timelines but I don't know anyone who long term is willing to bet against XR.

When Sony decided not to increase OLEDoS fab units when Apple asked for it and pulled back from some of its really exciting work in the field I was hoping it was a longer reinvestment but not sure now. It's so frustrating because they were front of the wave with real RnD resource

Seeing the Sony patent sell off to Meta makes me sad. No way to tell if my patents were sold but I don't think so. Looks to be Sony Group not PlayStation sub. Also its 419 patents some of which are XR related. Also there is likely a licence back clause. Still makes me sad.

This is also why small teams who deeply understand a problem and are innovative in their approach run rings around both open source and entrenched competition. Only reason you have not seen more innovation in spaces like photoshop is DRM/IP protections are custom formats and customer lock in.

Also most research into modern copyright finds that after a decade very few creatives and individuals are reaping the reward for the work. So it is inherently failing. Software can be hard but honestly if the software is 15+ years old and has solid OS competition it is likely not worth prot.

If the thing is fundamental and discoverable like say math. Or the effort required does not justify protection then no copyright. These are political and policy choices we need to be VERY CAREFUL WITH! Don't just think about your usage but the abuses.

Claire Blackshaw @evilkimau.bsky.social · 07/10/2026
Here is the thing you can't copyright sewing patterns, cooking recipes, any fonts (only the software) and deffo not math. This is because copyright was made to enhance the public domain by providing a space for individuals to do difficult things and make profit.

In all seriousness have BUNCH of work & biz stuff todo... it will happen soon. Have some non-AP work atm todo and working hard on multiplayer but yeah "Campgrounds" or whatever I end up calling it will likely ship "soon" I can't help myself... I really wish I could

I also probably overindex on the problem cuz I spent a bunch of time doing creative stuff in VR and brush strokes and what not have real impact there. Like you want to capture the actual data so you can get the fingerprint of the movement / brush strokes rather than a smooth average.

Claire Blackshaw @evilkimau.bsky.social · 01/10/2026
Oh for sure in that case game logic makes 100% sense. I more thought from video you were talking about the classic overshoot from imu updating faster then camera track leading to the shake at the end of an aiming motion. Cause sharp shooters get strong arms to compensate for that irl

Claire Blackshaw @evilkimau.bsky.social · 01/10/2026
If you don't think coding is creative fuck you and you are the problem. Some of the most creative people I know are maths majors.

All this is to say awesome work. I love the filtering but you shouldn't need to do it and you're operating with way less data than the hardware in the API has and it should be their job to do it and they should be able to do a better job cuz they have more information with less latency
110
Claire Blackshaw @evilkimau.bsky.social · 30/09/2026
Better yet from mixed reality they should be able to provide us the XR timestamp of when the estimated capture of the pass-through images and be able to be perfectly align. The digital controller and the physical controller image because weird sync up so there'd be no latency differential
100
Claire Blackshaw @evilkimau.bsky.social · 30/09/2026
OpenXR api were built with this in mind you sync your action set at a given XR time. And obviously if you sync at an older time you should in theory be getting stable results which for things like brush strokes make a lot more sense. We are talking milliseconds here. Tiny delay!
100
Claire Blackshaw @evilkimau.bsky.social · 30/09/2026
It's so dumb that you have to do this under the hood. All of the tracking models have a predicted model and a stable model. The predicted models the only one that has jitter who is the stable models built on 1000 plus frequency sample rate and is actually accurately integrated.

Oh, it's even worse than that. Poisoning llms is easier than bot farms and there are already companies that offer the service. Easy solution is verified data sets. The issue is any commercial interest corrupts. Personal recommenders built on open tech with data from your trusted sources is the way

Wanted to give more time to the #godotxrgamejam but life and taxes. Good news is a submission is in, just the target shooting. The wind stuff and shapekey stuff was fun to play with but the polish and balance is deffo not there. kimau.itch.io/balloon-dino...

Working on wind visualisation for #godotxrgamejam Static mesh which samples windflow map. Loops lifecycle ensuring they spawn only in view. Compact posvel into float4 buffer with custom vertex transform gives us the update and custom streak in a cost effective billboard

This stuff has been a long time coming. This with some reworks to shader templates / material bindings or at least some exposing of mesh/surf shaders to gdscript layer and we are COOKING! Though can't wait so my own fork already has these in a way that isn't acceptable to port back to main

Better short demo of the kind of stuff I was playing around with. It depends on some ML stuff and I was never happy with my results. www.youtube.com/shorts/yPibs... Through the raw waveform like from the micromotion would likely be a trippy input into a synth.

Come in a bunch of flavours the cheaper ones tend to be tuned for long range low precision for human presence detection in 24 range. You need something in 60GHz for close range stuff. Google played around a lot with it for wearables because it penetrates fabric Played with youtu.be/BdbWGezCCSg?...

I say a lot, not much in your case. Fragment techniques can lead you down an expensive road when there's a much cheaper way. Totes fine to do in fragment
000
Claire Blackshaw @evilkimau.bsky.social · 17/09/2026
Totally valid way to do it. However, you are going to be burning through a lot of fragments shading time. A more efficient way that'll lead to a cleaner line is to subdivide that mesh pop the vertices on the UV map in a predictable way and do the calculation in the vertex shader.
