Thank you, and solidarity forever.
I congratulate Representative Marjorie Decker on winning the election for State Rep in Cambridge. I am profoundly grateful to every voter and volunteer who made our campaign possible.

Although we did not win this election, we built something real. Together, we knocked 54,054 doors. 653 people volunteered. We took on the political establishment and built a movement that could not be ignored. Thousands of neighbors joined conversations about getting ICE out of Mass., getting money out of politics, and delivering a State House that works for everyone. Those relationships and the power people discovered in acting together will endure. We look forward to working with Representative Decker and our community in advancing the commitments made during this election.

This campaign may be ending, but our movement's fight for democracy and transparency continues. Thank you, Cambridge. I love you all, and I look forward to continuing to organize alongside all of you. Solidarity forever!

This race was decided by just 41 votes last time. Every door matters. Every conversation matters. Every vote matters. This is about outside money vs. people power. Let’s send union organizer Evan MacKay to the State House. Vote Evan MacKay on Sept 1st. www.evanforcambridge.com/vote

Cambridge is not for sale. Hospital CEOs have checks. We’ve got the people. Corporate lobbyists and billionaires can spend all they want on our opponent, but they can’t buy a conversation at the door. They can’t buy solidarity. And they sure as hell can’t buy this election.

This campaign has always been about spreading public information about our Legislature and a positive vision for Massachusetts, not inflammatory attacks.

We also reached out to the organization named in the flyers and confirmed that they didn’t put these up, or approve anybody to use their name in this way. We’re asking that if you see these flyers, please take them down.

Our volunteer canvassers and neighbors have seen these flyers around Cambridge today. We have no idea who put these up, but we want to be clear that these did not come from our campaign or from anybody supporting us.

Evan will help reform Beacon Hill so that bills actually move so that we can build more housing throughout the state, protect tenants from price gouging, advance social housing and community land trusts, and lower the cost of housing.

Evan MacKay @evanforcambridge.bsky.social · 30/08/2026
We’re proud not to accept any donations from lobbyists or corporate real estate developers. The majority of Evan’s campaign donations come from Cambridge residents, unlike Rep Decker’s donations which are over 70% from outside our city.
131
Evan MacKay @evanforcambridge.bsky.social · 30/08/2026
Our opponent, Rep Marjorie Decker, has failed to navigate Cambridge’s home rule petitions through the state’s approval process, while accepting maximum donations from real estate industry power brokers like Conor Yunits.
131
Evan MacKay @evanforcambridge.bsky.social · 30/08/2026
Even policies designed with local input and passed by the City Council require special approval from Beacon Hill, this is called a home rule petition.
131
Evan MacKay @evanforcambridge.bsky.social · 30/08/2026
Cambridge has been crushed by rising costs of housing ever since rent control was outlawed across Massachusetts in 1994, as Massachusetts has not built enough housing throughout our state. The state blocks cities like Cambridge from enacting local solutions to protect renters.

Me and Evan, helmets and Evan buttons proudly displayed, grinning at the camera as we prepare to start ANOTHER shift of GOTV canvassing. Cars rumble down Mass Ave in the distance but you know what, there's a protected bike lane between the sidewalks and the cars and so we felt quite safe biking around!

Massachusetts cannot abolish ICE by itself. But we CAN stop using state resources to legitimize ICE, share data, and funnel people into Trump’s deportation system. Evan MacKay will stand with immigrant communities to end our state’s voluntary collaboration with ICE.

Evan MacKay @evanforcambridge.bsky.social · 29/08/2026
Massachusetts is the last blue state with a voluntary 287(g) agreement with ICE. The PROTECT Act was an important victory, won by immigrants and advocates who spent years pressuring Beacon Hill. But the work isn’t finished. The law leaves a massive loophole that allows this agreement to continue.

Our grassroots campaign is proud to be funded by our community — not lobbyists, developers, or billionaires. We believe in a State House we can be proud of, not one that’s for sale to the ultra wealthy.

Healthcare industry CEOs and lobbyists have been funding Rep Decker’s campaign. As Chair of the Joint Committee on Public Health, our opponent is responsible for oversight and regulation of public health in MA. Those who profit from the healthcare crisis trust Rep Decker.

Now Trump’s appointees are coming after the rights of graduate workers to organize. Any elected official who suggests that graduate workers are not workers, is following the MAGA playbook.

As someone who helped form the Harvard Graduate Students Union, and as president of their union, Evan MacKay was part of that fight. In the UAW, Evan fought to throw open the doors, challenge business as usual, and put power back where it belongs: in the hands of the membership.
121
Evan MacKay @evanforcambridge.bsky.social · 26/08/2026
For years, Harvard graduate workers have organized against one of the most powerful institutions in the world. We’ve gone on strike. We’ve walked picket lines. We’ve fought for protections against harassment and abuse. And we’ve proven what happens when workers refuse to be intimidated into silence.

I am running for office to end mass incarceration and fight against the prison-industrial complex that profits from it. The establishment is trying to buy this election, but we are building a people-powered movement. Vote and volunteer between now and September 1st!

Our opponent has raised the most donations of any political campaign in Cambridge history. Who is behind the money seeking to keep Rep Decker in office? John Fish is a billionaire and CEO of Suffolk Construction, which is negotiating to build a new women’s prison in Mass.

The people of Cambridge are among the most progressive in the state, and the Mass Democratic party platform articulates bold progressive policies. Yet the action taken by our state government lags behind our values. Join us by Sept 1st to help change that.
Evan MacKay is running for safety and belonging for all

1. Protect MA communities
2. End state collaboration with ICE
3. Ban surveillance fusion centers
4. Fully fund immigrant legal aid
