Mit Jason Stanley und Tim Snyder verlassen zwei wichtige Forscher zu Faschismus und Autoritarismus die USA für Kanada. Sie wissen, was kommt. Auch @brynntannehill.bsky.social, die schon vor Jahren vor dem warnte, was jetzt geschieht, geht nach Kanada ins Exil. Lest ihr Buch „American Fascism“.

I don't care what side of the Israel-Palestine conflict your sympathies lie on, snatching up people with a valid student visa for the crime of writing an OpEd is naked fascism and if you don't oppose this you are a threat to this country's most basic values

I hereby predict, @archive.org will be among the Trump administration's next target, following Orwell's famous dictum that "[t]hose who control the present, control the past and those who control the past control the future."

How do conspiracy theories spread across digital platforms—and how does their style evolve? A new study by Annett Heft, Xixuan Zhang, and myself in New Media & Society analyzes veiled conspiracism across 4chan, X/Twitter, and far-right partisan media from 2011–2021. 👇 doi.org/10.1177/1461...

If you're curious how a democracy transitions from a free press to state-run media, this is the kind of step you'd expect to see.

Powerful. Tomorrow’s front page of the most influential weekly publication in Germany. “BETRAYED. First Zelensky, Soon Us? The radical departure of the US from its allies.”
The full front cover is dominated by a picture of Zelenskyy. The word BETRAYED is written in German (VERRATEN) across his chest in yellow. The rest of the subtitle is underneath.

OUR BOOK IS OUT!!! It's called "The Institutional Development of #Podcasting" and is co-authored with Thomas Spejlborg Sejersen, published by Routledge. It's been a long process. I'm happy we succeeded in getting to this point. This is a big f***ing deal. www.routledge.com/The-Institut...
The cover of "The Institutional Development of Podcasting".A section from Chapter 1 of "The Institutional Development of Podcasting" (by Aske Kammer and Thomas Spejlborg Sejersen):
"Key questions remain, however: How exactly has podcasting changed? What has happened, why has it happened, what are the implications, and what can be learned from it? This book answers these questions, employing institutional theory as a framework for analyzing such developments.
The overall argument of the book is that while the digital economy and the digital infrastructures of platforms have colonized podcasting and transformed the institutional logics, the institutional development of podcasting is also one of stability. This implies that new actors and institutions have entered the stage and added increased complexity to the institutional field rather than replacing each other.!
