EU-LIFE for innovation

Since its creation, EU-LIFE has driven innovation at the heart of European science. By strengthening the entire innovation cycle, from breakthrough research to effective valorisation, EU-LIFE helps its member institutes perform better, collaborate smarter, and turn ideas into impact.

Through its policy and community work, EU-LIFE ensures that research excellence connects seamlessly with innovation:

• Contribution towards shaping and development of the European Innovation Council (EIC).
• Publication of EU-LIFE’s vision for the EIC in the context of the policy debate about FP10.
• Commitment to advancing the European Research Area’s knowledge valorisation agenda and fostering dialogue between academia, industry, and investors.

Interaction with innovation leaders of the biotech sector

The EU-LIFE Strategy Meetings, celebrated annually to establish the strategic priorities of the alliance, usually include exchange meetings with biotech, funding and innovation experts.

The main aim of these sessions is to explore how fundamental research can serve as a foundation for innovation.

They are organised in an open and participative format that fosters forward-looking conversations about the common challenges of research and industry in the field of the life sciences, with a particular interest in how curiosity-driven researchers can contribute to the new global agendas.

This month we celebrate @kosicek.bsky.social, Science Communication Coordinator at @institutrb.bsky.social, who participated in 𝗦𝗰𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝗪𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿𝗳𝘂𝗹! with researchers Jelena Bujan & Barbara Milutinović and shared his experience in our blog! ➡️ eu-life.eu/newsroom/new...
"We were not just presenting ants and beetles; we were advocating for curiosity-driven, fundamental research. [...]In that sense, a plush beetle can sometimes do what a policy brief cannot - it can open the door. That is why visibility matters, not as self-promotion, but as a responsibility. If we want fundamental research to be supported, we cannot afford to remain quite or invisible," said Marko Košiček.
