JKR and her new org apparently helped get the new Amnesty International report on how TERF organizations destroy lives taken down from their site. Well, guess what? The Streisand Effect is real. Here's the entire report in a thread. Read it. Share it.

my favorite bluesky arguments are the long drawn-out ones where person a responds via direct reply and person b exclusively answers through quote-posts. it's like seeing two people arguing on the street with one person facing sideways and shouting into the open door of a baskin robbins

Folks, they have less than 1k comments so far. Posts arguing about which way to hang toilet paper have more comments in facebook groups. If you are in any way involved in art: writing, music, acting, film MAKE YOUR VOICE HEARD

A reminder for the next few days when each of these may be harder than normal to remember

Three rows of double panels depicting a raccoon, drawn by RedGoldSparks:

- when you feel like you hate everyone // eat
- when you feel like you hate yourself // shower

Update on my pixel art guide for beginners: Transferred all the information from Tumblr to a Google Doc, so anyone who doesn't have a Tumblr account can now read through the whole thing! I also updated quite a bit of information too. I hope it will help somebody! docs.google.com/document/d/1...

Some of y'all are experiencing "pictures aren't loading" for the first time, and I hope it really helps make clear another reason for alt text. #Accessibility

Screenshot of an image post. None of the 4 pictures have loaded but there's an ALT badge in the corner of each of them. This means I can click on the picture and know exactly what it is even without being able to see it. Y'know, like how visually impaired people use this app every single day?

I came across an outdated guide on image grid sizing crop/proportions for bsky earlier, and I felt it was important to create an updated version! Please use this new guide instead!

Up-to-date BlueSky Crop Aspect Ratio
Crop Sizes for Bluesky as of 18 Oct 2024

By default, single images are uncropped. If image is too tall (Exceeds the 1:2 aspect ratio) then it will be cropped. Single images that are too tall may be scaled down but aspect ratio is preserved

With two images, both of them share a square aspect ratio of 1:1

For three images, the first image is square (1:1) while the other two are half-squares (2:1)

And for 4 images, all of them are 3:2

Witnessing things people make in earnest is one of the best joys in life in my opinion. Even if you haven't had years of practice, there really is something so special and interesting about every human soul, and translating yourself into something tangible is so freaking cool
