Had my big jab this morning and already feeling the side effects. It’s my 39th and I hope to have many more, every 12 weeks. For those that don’t know, this drug chemically castrates men by removing testosterone that feeds #prostatecancer It works but the impact is grotesque!

After feeling awful yesterday I felt great today and so pushed it quite hard to do my fastest time on this short route on the 6th consecutive day of running. Rest day from running tomorrow as I’m going hiking in the Peak District 😂😂

ust nearly burst into tears in an exercise class because I was struggling horrendously with fatigue and couldn’t do a lot of the exercises like I normally can. But it’s okay, I got the good cancer! #prostatecancer Still managed a mile plod very slowly!

45 years ago today we got married. 8 years ago I was told I only had 2 years to live thanks to stage 4 #prostatecancer and I didn’t think we’d get to 40 years let alone 45! Now I’m optimistic we’ll get to 50! Don’t think we’ve changed a bit in 45 years 😂😂😂

8.25 years ago I was told I might only have 2 years to live thanks to incurable prostate cancer and I didn’t think I’d get to see my then 3yo grandson Ethan become a teenager. Well he’s 12 this month and I’ve just been told that my PSA remains undetectable! Still beating the odds, a very lucky man!

We first saw @scottymcreery at @grandoleopry.bsky.social just after he won @americanidol.bsky.social. This 17 year old who looked like he was 12 came on stage and this huge voice boomed out and took us by surprise. Saw him again tonight and he was superb!

My VO2 max has been as high as 52 prior to incurable cancer diagnosis and has steadily declined since. Today it’s increased for the first time in 8 years which, given that running has been mega tough this year, is very surprising. Small gains though! Every wins a win.

A bit stronger than yesterday. Still suffering with phlegm but the wind seems to have reduced the pollen today so maybe a bit easier. Treatment and PSA test results this week so I won’t get much exercise in but I’ve run 5 times in the last week to make up for it!

Delighted to say that I’ve passed my safeguarding and first aid courses and got my DBS certification to enable me to continue as an England Athletics Coach in Running Fitness for another 3 years. Now need to find a new club and looking at Lymm Runners

5km run at 7 in the morning. 4km walk to La Caleta for coffee and 4km walk back to get to hotel for aqua fit class. 17,500 steps so far today. I may have stage 4 cancer and a new knee but I’m bossing cancer today!
