Your worth shouldn't be based on how productive you are, but sometimes it feels so good to be productive. I started cleaning my studio a bit, but most importantly, I made a cake today with my Mom and daughter. It's called obstkuchen! Yum 😋

Introductory post! I’m Beth, Myths in Clay on most platforms. I’m a ceramic artist, currently living in London. My sculptures and functional wares are heavily inspired by fantasy, folklore and dreams. #ceramics #sculpture

A ceramic sculpture of a the head of a creature resembling a white hare, facing left. It has 3 eyes visible: 6 total on the sculpture. The clay is off-white, with patches of brighter white in some places where slip was placed. The sculptures details were rubbed with black, allowing the fur to be seen. The nose, ear interiors, and under-eyes have a very slight pink glaze. The eyes themselves are deep-set, and glazed with an antique gold glaze: it is darker where thin (around the eye) and gold where thick, which is where the iris is. The sculpture comes to an end at the lower neck area of the hare.

This is a sculpture featuring the head of a creature, facing right. It most closely resembles an iguana or crocodile without teeth. It has three visible eyes , one large and in the normal place for an eye. The other two are smaller, one above and one behind the primary eye. The mouth is gaping, with a tongue lolling in its mouth. The skin of the creature ranges from black to light green. Its flesh is bumpy, the bumps being lighter than any of the surrounding flesh.

The artist is white and has long wavy brown hair, partially put up into space buns. She is wearing a black Lacey dress with half-sleeves. Her eye makeup features orange and red, smoked out around the eyes. She is holding the sculpture up above eye level with both hands, and looking at it. The sculpture she is holding is a small white raven inspired piece. The piece is made of porcelain (a very white clay), but was wood fired so it has speckled grey and cream patterning where the flames licked it. The raven is on its back with its claws sticking up. The head of the raven has gaping holes where its eyes would be, making it more closely resemble a bird skull than a full head, though it blends seamlessly into the body.

The base color is a rusty red, but the tail feathers and wings are black and the head is an off white mottled with cracked pure white glaze.

I figured since @amyraehill.bsky.social has shared my work so much, I should share one of hers. The details are amazing and even though I've watched all her process videos, I can't wrap my head around painting like this with underglaze.
