1. Revolts must spread. 2. Disorder must refuse confrontation and instead fragment. 3. In parallel, we should support a multitude of making other ways of living. Ian Alan Paul @elbienmaspreciado.bsky.social wrote: illwill.com/disorder
1. When revolts occur, they must work to persistently increase their intensity and number across ever wider territories. Their destiny is either to spread across the Earth and bring total ruin upon this order that has come to be total, or to be recuperated and repressed, to be defeated by what they failed to defeat.

2. Revolts must refuse to confront order in any symmetrical form of conflict, as this symmetry is itself a form of order. Revolts must rather aim to fragment and spread confusion within order wherever and whenever possible, heightening dissensus and divisions among the police, the military, and whomever aspires to suppress revolt. Order always aims to meet disorder on its own terms, to shape it and in this way defang it, so disorder must be imposed upon order, eliminating the foundation of order’s existence.

3. The offensive movements of revolts must be accompanied by movements of secession, a breaking away from order which is also the construction of other ways of living, of other worlds to live within. History itself is composed of a disastrous sequence of different orders, with each collapse mirrored in the construction of another. The making nonexistent of order is thus inseparable from the making existent of that which refuses order. The need to destroy order is also the need to create a disordered existence.

Estrangement is a recurring theme in MAGA online spaces. Many, if not most, of Trump’s biggest fans have been cut off by family and friends. Ostensibly over political differences, but it’s always deeper than that. QAnon, vaccinations, hateful views- things that cut deeper than which party holds majorities in Congress. Because MAGA are perpetual victims, estrangement is always everyone else’s fault. Everyone but them and their actions are to blame.

Estrangement has also become what journalist Michael Hobbes has termed a “quietly metastasizing moral panic.” There have been multiple articles in the past few years freaking out over the number of young adults going no-contact with their parents. Often told primarily by estranged relatives, including only their version of what went wrong. It’s a cultural moment that pairs well with MAGA voters’ own experiences. Rather than examining your own actions and words or holding yourself accountable in any way, you can just blame woke and socialism for why your kids won’t talk to you anymore.

People calling you naïve can indeed be militants for brutalization. But they can also be self-defeating persons, in which case we may convince them ✨ (Which Swarbrick and AOC do.)
"The world we live in is false in the sense that institutions lie about the truth of their objective role and functions. Hence, telling the truth about these institutions and questioning them are one and the same thing."

"Non-intervention and non-#commitment objectively amount to ways of not changing the world and therefore of committing oneself to its preservation."

A protest movement born from anger over examination scandals has widened into a challenge over institutional accountability. By Muhammad Amir:
This is where the cockroach has become more dangerous. Exam scandals and voter rolls seem to belong to different worlds, but both raise the same question: can ordinary Indians trust the institutions that decide their opportunities and rights? The movement has joined the frustration of young people who believe effort no longer pays with the anxiety of voters who fear their voice may not count.

For more than a decade, Modi’s advantage has rested on more than winning elections. The BJP has shaped the national conversation through friendly television, a formidable social media machine and the language of nationalism. Critics were branded anti-national and uncomfortable questions drowned out. Often, the government could simply change the subject.

The cockroach complicates that strategy. It is difficult to humiliate people who have already turned an insult into their identity, and difficult to dismiss questions that cut across party loyalty. A student worried about exam leaks does not necessarily oppose the BJP; a voter questioning the rolls does not necessarily support Congress. The movement’s strength lies in giving such grievances a common language.

"The Climate Movement Isn’t in Retreat, It’s Under Attack… and It’s Time to Fight Back", by @amywestervelt.bsky.social: drilled.media/newsletter/t...
No one group or policy will solve everything or appeal to everyone, and building a movement that can sustain requires tolerance of a wide range of approaches. The radical flank is crucial to expanding what’s deemed politically viable; the centrists and politicos are necessary for getting policy written and passed; and the movement as a whole has to show up for other movements. The key civil rights battles in this country have never been won only by the group whose rights were in question. The climate movement is battling the same exact organizations and people that oppose immigration, workers’ rights, women’s rights, and LGBTQ rights, and increasingly those organizations are being funded and amplified by the very same industries the climate movement is working to hold accountable, Big Oil and Big Tech.

"Rather than believe the women he had collaborated with, and so be forced to revise his image of the respectable men in his midst, #Freud chose to maintain that respectability by refusing the validity of his own observations." aworkinglibrary.com/reading/trau... Judith Herman, Trauma and Recovery:
[Freud’s] correspondence makes clear that he was increasingly troubled by the radical social implications of his hypothesis. Hysteria was so common among women that if his patients’ stories were true, and if his theory were correct, he would be forced to conclude that what he called “perverted acts against children” were endemic, not only among the proletariat of Paris, where he had first studied hysteria, but also among the respectable bourgeois families of Vienna, where he had established his practice. This idea was simply unacceptable. It was beyond credibility.

Faced with this dilemma, Freud stopped listening to his female patients. The turning point is documented in the famous case of Dora. This, the last of Freud’s case studies on hysteria, reads more like a battle of wits than a cooperative venture. The

You don't have to believe the BBC. The Interior Minister only announced stopping one method. "It is only the 'launcher' use of this grenade model that is now suspended." However, the ASSD grenade was created to be thrown by hand. It is its role in the law enforcement arsenal."

The “Monkey Master” fable

A Fourteenth Century Chinese parable by Liu-Ji, for example, outlines this neglected understanding of political power quite well:
In the feudal state of Chu an old man survived by keeping
monkeys in his service. The people of Chu called him “ju
gong” (monkey master).
Each morning, the old man would assemble the monkeys
in his courtyard, and order the eldest one to lead the others
to the mountains to gather fruits from bushes and trees.
It was the rule that each monkey had to give one-tenth of
his collection to the old man. Those who failed to do so
would be ruthlessly flogged. All the monkeys suffered
bitterly, but dared not complain.

One day, a small monkey asked the other monkeys: “Did
the old man plant all the fruit trees and bushes?” The others said: “No, they grew naturally.” The small monkey
further asked: “Can’t we take the fruits without the old
man’s permission?” The others replied: “Yes, we all can.”
The small monkey continued: “Then, why should we depend on the old man; why must we all serve him?”
Before the small monkey was able to finish his statement,
all the monkeys suddenly became enlightened and awakened.
On the same night, watching that the old man had fallen
asleep, the monkeys tore down all the barricades of the
stockade in which they were confined, and destroyed the
stockade entirely. They also took the fruits the old man had
in storage, brought all with them to the woods, and never
returned. The old man finally died of starvation.
Yu-li-zi says, “Some men in the world rule their people by
tricks and not by righteous principles. Aren’t they just like
the monkey master? They are not aware of their muddleheadedness. As soon as their people become enlightened,
their tricks no longer work.”

Petro-masculinity: Fossil Fuels and Authoritarian Desire
Cara Daggett
https://doi.org/10.1177/0305829818775817

Abstract
As the planet warms, new authoritarian movements in the West are embracing a toxic combination of climate denial, racism and misogyny. Rather than consider these resentments separately, this article interrogates their relationship through the concept of petro-masculinity, which appreciates the historic role of fossil fuel systems in buttressing white patriarchal rule. Petro-masculinity is helpful to understanding how the anxieties aroused by the Anthropocene can augment desires for authoritarianism. The concept of petro-masculinity suggests that fossil fuels mean more than profit; fossil fuels also contribute to making identities, which poses risks for post-carbon energy politics. Moreover, through a psycho-political reading of authoritarianism, I show how fossil fuel use can function as a violent compensatory practice in reaction to gender and climate trouble.
