As someone who is their own worst enemy a lot, a reminder: It's okay to scale back/simplify a project. Even temporarily! Exciting ideas like to run off and create big goals, and get complicated. Don't get overwhelmed and give up! It's okay to do just the basics, come back later for fancy stuff! 💜

💻 "App windows" in Bit ESC were A LOT of work to put in I usually thought I could "fake" it but more often than not I had to make an almost fully-functional thing for them to work right 😭 #gamedev #indiegame

Bit ESC started off with a 640x360 base resolution. Halved that early on to make things easier to work with. It also made stuff a bit cuter I think, which is a huge plus (˶ᵔ ᵕ ᵔ˶) #gamedev #indiegame

I tried to limit myself as much as possible while developing Bit ESC so that I could actually finish the game. That’s the main reason Bit is literally a 8x8 square with eyes. #gamedev #indiegame
