I think this is what a lot of people who aren't involved miss. "Why don't atproto devs do [X]" WITH WHAT TIME??? WITH WHAT ENERGY??? It's damn amazing all that we're managing to make happen. If we had infinite resources, it'd be even more so.

it will it will, it just takes time :) I think we're still building trust relationships here, and it's a lot of work to form and maintain them. The more smaller players form relationships and learn to work together, the more the sky is the limit. Or you could say... the atmosphere is 👈👈😎

It's the right design!! I wonder if having all the profiles in the same space would actually help signal that's what they are across apps so different profiles could be surfaced? The lexicon mixins talk rises again.

Yeah, though honestly it's less about features and it's more about finding the "ringleader" for them. What I'd do (and have done), for example, is finding a topical theme and use your social account like: - the theme of this week is [x]! - you can publish using [tag] throughout the week, BUT (cont.)

People often see this as a matter of a platform being better or having more affordances, but that's only partly true. People write and communicate on all types of clunky and old software if it gives them connection with others. Some of that can be bootstrapped by purposely focusing the convo.

Different platforms have different targets for the type of content/community they want, ofc, but if you're seeking to generate conversation and activity, then 5 people that are all talking about one thing will have more impact than 10 commenting on one person's posts. And they drag in others too.

These help, but two angles I think matter is bootstrapping the conversation + taking the conversation from where already into here. Cross posting to/from other platforms more easily would be huge, but so would be themed challenges, for example, that get a bunch of people talking at the same time.
