I just dug up some info on BioArctic's BrainTransporter tech - almost 10x increase in drug in the brain! That's quite the image 🧪

Our #gingerbread is coming along. This year Jeff the #lochness monster is looking for a security job in the local town. Love that my little added a briefcase 😂
A gingerbread creation showing a bridge leading to what will be a town. A lockness monster weaves in and out of the water surrounding the town with a name tag of Jeff and a briefcase

Guys! #ASH24 had a #puppy pen!! Look at this little guy! Apparently 4 or 5 puppies have been adopted so far, which is nuts. I can't imagine going to a conference and coming home with a puppy (despite deep desire and begging from my littles)

And 4/4. I am def not your person for questions - but anyone is always welcome to reach out to authors or presenters. I do that a lot for areas I research and always find people are more than happy to chat about their work. But of course, be kind to them :)

Dr. Shan Liu just called out the Western diet as the "Fast Food" diet and she ain't wrong 😂 And look, the Western diet upped tumor volume... I have a good friend who came back from stage 4 lung cancer after a *massive* diet change, so I find this talk on #keto boosting #Car-T interesting #ASH24 🧪

What am I missing? The #cemsidomide MonoDACTM degrader results showed a patient case study. It looks like it worked great during the first month, but after a few months disease came back with a bang...and close to 9 in 10 pts discont. (I recognize its a heavily pretreated pop. & oral) #ASH24 🧪

Big congrats to Dr Rachel Rau looking at #blinatumomab in kids. Adding it into standard #chemo significantly cut relapses and increased disease free survival. She mentioned the data monitoring board suggested a stop to randomization for efficacy. #ASH24 #ASH2024 🧪

Hired out my first project on Fivver- turning my kids art into patches as a #stockingstuffer for my hubs. They need some work, and likely a different base material, but I am so excited!! #embroidery

More than half of people getting plaque removed from their major arteries also had microplastic in their plaque. And those with microplastics were 4.5 times more likely to die for any reason...🤯 Ill just be over here buying new Tupperware...the glass kind...🧪 www.nejm.org/doi/full/10....

It's amazing to see the rapid pace of development in obesity. Just think of the health benefits all around And it looks like oral options are slowly making their way through trials. (yes, I know Novo has oral sema, but it has to make *gobs* of it for each pill so its not really all that viable) 🧪
Results of Novo Nordisk's new Amycretin oral anti-obesity drug in Phase 1. A graph shows patients on drug lost 13% bodyweight over 12 weeks, while those on placebo lost 1% (but hovered around the 0%)

Madrigal's reported NASH data assumes anyone who didn't get a biopsy failed (fair in a clinical trial). But analysis of just the patients who got biopsies shows even better results for the drug. So the good news got better for a set of patients with no current therapy! 🧪 www.nejm.org/doi/full/10....

I'm interested in Amgen's new weight loss drug - the idea to block GIP with an antibody and boost GLP with a peptide (that's connected!) is really cool. But on the other hand, the adverse effects are definitely....meh.... 🧪 Phase 1 results paper: pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/38316982/

I think one of the biggest 20/20 hindsight "duh" moments with the weight loss drugs will be the lack of a push towards also moving more. I rarely see chatter about exercise - just, take this shot and shed the weight. Hope that changes soon www.ahajournals.org/doi/suppl/10... 🧪

I just really don't understand this stuff. Like, if you don't have the data point, retake the data point. Why reuse an image - if you *know* there is a null you should be able to *show* there is a null... It's really beyond me that scientists do this, or photoshop things to make them more "clear"

TIL Kristian Blummenfelt not only won the first Ironman he ever competed in, he set the world record. That's insane. I also learned we don't look at muscle oxygenation enough and could all maybe be super human if we did? Probably not. I like cake on the couch too much. I suspect I'm not alone...

I was so focused on AD the PD part of the table flew right out my brain - flu led to 2-3ish increased odds of PD! Yikes www.cell.com/neuron/fullt...

Just read the NIA's paper on viral infections an neurodegenerative diseases. Even just the flu boosts your chances of Alzheimer's by ~3x. Makes me wonder about COVID... Full data here: www.cell.com/neuron/fullt...
