linear isn’t a problem in itself; the game is just very empty. Cutscene > corridor > battle enemies > back to corridor > small branch path with item > back to main corridor > enemy 2 > next cutscene / boss. No NPCs / towns. For the first 9-11 hours game battles can be on auto pilot (auto battle).

beyond me personally finding its storytelling, characters, and dialogue to be hot garbage, I also really hate its game design. Its one long (gorgeous but uninteresting) corridor w/ a 9 hour trial and battles that are mostly on autopilot (quite literally w/ auto battle)
