We just had this discussion yesterday! Apparently some of the need is that employers or certificate-granters need/want this information so syllabus need it. I don't entirely get it, but I have run into this over the last few years -- specific policies needed to be explicitly stated on syllabi.

I guess my biggest Takeaway is that there is no software or curriculum that you can purchase they can do anything better than well trained teachers. Invest the time and money needed to help Ts understand how students learn subjects and how to teach them those subjects and you will see improvement.
