I love how our cats have their own little patterns. The Goblin expects @hotsake.bsky.social and I to be on the couch at 7pm or she will walk around the house screaming. The Baby wants to be petted but only on the ground with us bending over. And of course, we oblige.

I'm pretty limited on what activities I can do while I wait to get my spinal fusion. It's frustrating. I'm still strong. Still want to move. But most activities send my pain levels to the point where even my stoic ass can't hide it. So I'm making cute scrunchies out of my scrap fabric. Small wins.

This article was so good I read it twice. I hear a lot of the language of awe at my institution. "Librarians are our heroes" "I love the library so much!" (From our President who hasn't interacted with the library the entire time I've been here.) And yet, here we are, three people, two branches.

I work at a community college library where ref and circ are one and the same. I won't say it's entirely negative, but I will say we are so short staffed (3 staff for 2 branches) that I am on the desk 37 hours a week and trying to do the rest of my job there is absolute hell.
