Ya know, it may have only been ten episodes, but goddam were they ten *spectacular* fucking episodes. May have to give the dub a go for a rewatch, but for now I'm just gonna enjoy the afterglow of best goddam adaptation we've ever had of this story. See ya net cowboy…

Motoko Kusanagi in a new cyborg body overlooks a large neon lit city at night and proclaims "The net is vast…" during the final shot of the 2026 Ghost in the Shell anime adaptation.

A lot of those designs are straight from the manga. That's one of the reasons I'm really loving this adaptation—it's *the* closest version we've ever seen to the manga, and that includes all of Shirow's crazy background details and goofiness.

So 40K nerds seem to largely be creaming their collective jeans over the new Exodites, and I'm over here just kinda…meh? I get it, one of GW's basic plays these days is to finally make minis for factions and units that have been in the lore for decades that never had proper models, but…(cont)

They've been better, I salvaged/decanted some paints that were in the original paint line pots a couple years ago. They've also been *significantly* worse—those fucking hexagonal abominations with the dimpled screw on caps were *abysmal* at maintaining anything…

So I've been a GitS fan since high school, way back when all we had(for English audiences) was the Dark Horse manga. And while I've enjoyed most of the animated adaptations, I don't know that I've been this hyped for one in quite some time. Look at it! Colours! Smooching! youtu.be/yedJOylFOtg?...

Ok, but the RT Autocannon was quite a bit beefier than the modern day versions being more akin to what we now call the Leman Russ Battlecannon, and the next size up would be a Macrocannon, which would be comically out of (power) scale…

These are from Ages Past, the Days of Yore in the Before Times, but I still think they're some nifty little power armoured dudes, one of which is even befitting the latest Codex Compliant (i.e. I fielded him as an Inquisitor). (my lighting setup right now is kinda shite, but c'est l víe…)

Movie you’ve watched more than six times with a gif. Hard mode: no Stars (Wars nor Trek), LOTR, or Marvel, Disney Animated or Pixar. At one point I had all three endings memorized… For extra hard mode I left off anime as well, otherwise Akira, GitS and Macross Plus could all easily be there.

My only real complaint(?) would be an early bit of dialogue in the game has me wanting to try and remember next time I pop into a @caseyexplosion.bsky.social stream to ask if "amn't", as in the contraction of "am not" is really a thing, which seems parasocially imposing to my should-be-asleep self.

So as much as the anti-capitalist in me hates to put corporate advertising out there—not mentioning names though, because fuck that—this late 70's/early 80's coded "polaroid" that's on one of the beer packages at work is kinda vibes.
