The disgusting thing about online ads isn't that they exist, it's that they're front-loaded. They gate the unknown. Ad breaks would be so much more sympathetic if they waited until they'd earned their intrusion, be a payment for a service rendered and not an entry fee to a party that turns out shit.

This is also by far the cleanest near-complete Unity project I have seen in like half a decade. What a beaut! Past me was clearly traumatized into an elevated state of obsessive-compulsive spergliness by the horrors of Unity freelancing in the 2010s, and present me is so fucking here for it.

Not defending slop culture as the successor to remix culture, but media under consumerism (and there has barely been any other media) has always been about satisfying an advertiser by offering up eyeballs primed by some kind of wish fulfillment fantasy. Very little of mass culture was ever art.

Reminds me of doing amphetamine to get through an all-nighter of work. It makes you FEEL like you are still awake and alert, but you ARE in fact dog fucking tired and make all kinds of stupid mistakes and should have just gone to bed instead. I'm sure Takeda Pharmaceuticals is happy, though.
