If by AI you mean what we mean these days, LLMs, then no. If you mean that settings get updated in real time to optimize performance, then yes. That’s not really what people mean by AI these days though. It predates the hybrid era and yes it has intensified but it would have under any set of regs.

Or French
Screenshot of the America.gov website on a white background. At the top left is a small U.S. flag icon next to the “America.gov” logo. At the top right is a dark blue rounded button labeled “Menu.” In the center is a light gray rounded question box reading, “What happened in Paris on Oct 17, 1961?” Below it, the page displays the response: “I only answer questions about U.S. government services and official information. If you have a question about a federal program, benefit, agency, form, or how to use a government service, ask that and I can help.”

Every race weekend, Peter Windsor shits on the regs just before saying F1 is as good as F1 can get this weekend There’s a lot of cognitive dissonance between disliking the regs on principle and lauding their effects in practice youtu.be/0fwu5BLFNXg?...

If it’s not enough then it becomes a scarce resource to manage. Martin of lowerlaptime does a good job at explaining how Antonelli is especially good (trained) at carrying momentum through corners to save on the recovery budget. That’s driver skill. youtu.be/0SOffE2Hc-w?...

First details of future F1 engine rules revealed
The initial plan for F1’s next engine regulations have been revealed: 3.0-litre V8 turbo, with a smaller electrical motor and 50kg lighter

Push to pass ffs the V8 fetishists are getting us a literal mushroom button rather than strategic energy recovery and deployment

Poster for Ridicule, a 1996 French historical satire directed by Patrice Leconte and set at the court of Louis XVI. A man in black 18th-century dress kneels on the grass and bows deeply at the feet of a standing woman in an elaborate cream-and-gold gown, suggesting the exaggerated etiquette and humiliating social games of Versailles that drive the film’s story. Other courtiers appear blurred in the background. “Sélection Officielle Cannes 96” is printed across the top. The large dark-red title Ridicule appears below the image, followed by the tagline “Il n’épargne personne” (“It spares no one”).

You’re right. Gaining an advantage affects the penalty served.

Is track limits conditional to having gained an advantage? Which he avoided by giving back the position right away. Now you could say he still gained time.

Energy management is also not magic. There’s a limited recovery budget per lap. The way Kimi has trained to carry the momentum through corners, saving on unnecessary recovery and deployment, is driver skill. And he’s damn good at it. Exploit the formula. youtu.be/jm4xjVgj5c8?...

Ursula von der Leyen and Mark Carney, reimagined in the roles of Ronald Reagan and Margaret Thatcher.

The image references the famous photograph of Reagan and Thatcher walking together at Camp David, with von der Leyen taking Reagan’s place and Carney accompanying her in Thatcher’s. A familiar image of the transatlantic relationship, recast for a different era.

I want to expand on this in a short thread. Fascism sucks. It is also not going away: it is an effectively permanent part of modern representative politics because it is an effectively permanent part of human nature. We have to be prepared to push back against it, basically forever.
