DC Family Bike Fest was a joy! The Art & Activism table is always so much fun. We gave people space to draw and write and express their love for biking in DC.

It was a pleasure to join @districtjosh.bsky.social and many others for ANC 1E’s Neighborhood Beautification Day. I was so happy to help gather and collect litter and yard waste. And to make connections for community cleanups along and around Georgia Avenue.

A group gathers for instructions re planting, mulching and more. We also heard about placemaking and walkability.

I’m entering the cornbread contest for this year’s DC State Fair. This beauty is called the Janell - @janell4dc.bsky.social - who inspired my cranberry cornbread with a cornflake topping and local honey drizzle.

I had a great time running a back-to-school swap table today! About 90 percent of items found their way into new homes! Everything from school supplies to books and clothes to furniture! Many thanks to all who donated! I’ll hopefully be at a couple more events this season. Already lessons learned!
