Since it’s Thanksgiving in the US, I was searching for a photo of my daughter with turkeys. This one came up instead. It’s me and definitely not with turkeys! Any way, happy, happy 🦃 day!

Thank you! I should stop by BlueSky more often. I haven’t been on in months and just opened to this!

My office mates having a water cooler chat. (It’s the first time the 16+ year old has tolerated her 11 month old sister for even a moment.)

My 11 month old kitten is just starting to calm down. It was total chaos here a month ago.

Same. I’m still on Twitter. I built a following of 7.5k+ that was very active. I’ve made real friendships there and collaborated with other creators on projects. Also, I’m starting to see toxicity develop here.

There are gems, like a month ago, when the woman said “My name isn’t Ema.” And daughter responded, “Duh. No one’s name is actually Ema.” (Ema is mom in Hebrew)

11 y/o asked why I always use the expression “I’m in France”. 🤷🏻‍♀️I never have. She was meant to text me a/f school today. She said she did, but that, as usual, ‘I’ said, “Do what you want. I don’t care. I’m not your mother. I’m in France.” Turns out she’s been messaging a woman in France for months.

No thoughts, just thinking about Slimey, his adventures in Paris, and him getting to meet the GOAT herself

Slimey the worm is a character from Sesame Street. He is an orange and yellow striped worm and so small he can fit in the palm of your hand.
Here he is pictured on the sidewalk waiting for a cab with just his backpack and a suitcase (I imagine to avoid airline baggage fees). This worm knows how to travel.

Add together a great text and art from an illustrious artist and you’ve got on your hands a librarian biography that’s a cut above the rest. I review Go Forth and Tell by Breanna McDaniel and April Harrison (and go into a long spiel on nonfic too): #kidlit 📚👍 afuse8production.slj.com/2024/08/18/r...

Do not do, as my husband did when my teenage daughter was embarrassed to buy tampons (cashier was a teenage boy) so my husband held the box up and announced, "These definitely aren't for her. I was wondering, think these are good for nosebleeds?" The cashier took the box, examined it and shrugged.

I tried asking this on Threads & didn’t really get any replies. Maybe here? 👉Just wondering about the calls for illustration <from YA authors> - do you mostly want styles that look realistic, highly rendered and polished (e.g like Magic the Gathering art)? #books #booksky #kidlit

I was never very good at Twitter, should I try harder with Bluesky? Say hi if you want to be friends here! I make comics for middle grade! I made a comic memoir about having a baby. I just started a re-watch of LOST. I love loud music. I wear a lot of hats (metaphorically and literally). HI! #kidlit

Hi! I was 'good' at Twitter, but am struggling here. I wear lots of hats too and have lots of kids. I would love to read your comic memoir about having a baby. I live in Hong Kong and write PBs and MG. I'm currently really struggling with MG revisions.
