I was cleaning the lamp and this weird thing happened...Should I return the haunted lamp to the flea market or should I just go through the interdimensional portal? 🤔 Also , evidently, workshop walls are great portal conductors. (And pardon the mess in the workshop :P)

Should be a fun little side project :)

For now I cleaned up the main fresnel lens (quite a big chunk of thick glass) and reflector. They probably haven't been this clean in a hundred years haha. For the body, I'm not sure if I want to restore it to "brand new" looking condition, but it will definitely need a thorough wire brushing.

A friend of mine was at a big flea market and spotted this, sent me a photo, and of course I had to have it...It's an old, around 100 years old, railway lamp! Specifically a Krolupper-type semaphore lamp. It's in decent condition, paint peeled off mostly, surface rust. It's also very big.

This is not huge news to me as I've been fairly interested in the nuclear industry for decades. But even I was surprised how much counter evidence there is against LNT (in fact how little (basically none) to actually support it). This is important. www.youtube.com/watch?v=gzdL...

Now for something a bit more fun, finally - v2 fox! In many ways, this is much better than my previous one. But in some ways, it's worse, and there's still areas I'm unhappy with. Still, a good learning experience. I will make another head on this system, but I'm not 100% sure what yet...

When i got back from FantasyForest i really wanted to draw this. As i ran around doing crew things i saw the skies filled with kites shaped as various mythical beasts, traderflags, faction banners, tips of polearms and flickers of light from...wherever and whoever! #fantasyforest #dragon #fantasyart

a green dragon with yellow horns, spikes and breastplates flying over a scene with medieval/fanatsy tents as well as various flags seen sticking out from the foliage. the dragon is a kite.

My first ever multi color print! I mostly do engineering stuff, but this was fun.It was done manually, just by adding a pause in orca and swapping filaments (using a centauri carbon). Model by: @lavina.bsky.social Used a nice metallic gold filament for the accents. #3dprinting

Yea, as inspiration fine, just don't use such comparisons as a way to belittle your life, that really won't lead anywhere but feeling like crap.

I do believe you look really good for your age, and well, comparing yourself to others is pretty arbitrary...I mean what is the standard then? Try to just concentrate on the future, you can't change the past...

Sometimes I get this urge to play Minecraft again, accompanied by this feeling of "simpler times"...Funny thing is that when minecraft came out I was already 25! Somehow that now feels like part of some percieved childhood...I was 14 when half life came out, gives me similar feels.

Oh and working out has definitely helped with some of the consequences of working with a computer all day long, such as lower back pain. Generally my goal is to keep my body active, as I enter the second half of my life! Dancing at furry events is a fun bit of extra workout ;)

It feels good to accomplish something. I've now lost 4 kilos (at 74 kg now) in the past 6 weeks, by getting back into working out, while gaining strength in the process. Admittedly I don't like workouts, they can be a struggle when you are challenged, but I can't argue with the results :P

I need a change, a new direction. Something that doesn't make me feel like what I'm doing is pointless, and takes me nowhere. I need to feel I'm making some difference, and that the work I do is satisfying/enjoyable to both me and those who benefit from the results of it. This is important.

Also, as I mentioned under the video, that style of button (little mechanical indicator in a corner of the button) was a staple of videoton TVs, which were absolutely everywhere in Hungary.
