I've talked a lot about Peony and Dahlia, and not quite as much as this quartet. What are y'all's thought about them? 🙂 Names (From left to right) 🎩Col 🌸Roz 🌳Zak 🔥Sue

This was though, a lot of Peony's inspirations either came from real-world aesthetics, or from certain gaming themes; in other words, it's hard for me to single out 6 specific *characters*... But uh, here's my best answer. Wound up bending the rules a little 😅 Explanations provided in alt text! 🙂

A depiction of my OC (Peony) who's placed in the middle of the image, surrounded by 6 other images of characters or places that influenced her design and story

1. Link from the Legend of Zelda : Ocarina of Time (Original version): Peony was influenced by Link as a hero who's origin is that of a forest dweller, where the people (In Link's case the Kokiri) are all sprite-like beings who live in trees

2. Lily, from Ender Lilies : Quietus of the Knights. Peony takes from this character as someone who has a floral motif and performs purification rituals. In Peony's case she's a witch who's purifying her land, for Lily she's a priestess who frees the souls of the undying

3. Fairy Garden. This is a photo taken from own home, while not shown in this image we used to have little wooden people populating this space; in addition to the previously described Link inspiration, this was what inspired Peony's home life

4. Gail, from Phoenotopia : Awakening. Peony was influenced by the game more so than the character, which is an adventure game with light-RPG mechanics that is in port influenced by Zelda 2 : Adventure of Link; in this case, Peony's game takes more influence from Phoenotopia's take on Zelda 2, more so than Zelda 2 itself

5. Momo, from the Momodora series; the particular image shown in this case is Momodora : Moonlit Farewell. Like with Lily, Momo is a priestess with a nature-related motif (in Momo's case, a leaf), who purges demons that come to invade her realm. Peony's influences from this character are subtle, but can be traced to the Peony being someone who wields vine magic, while Momo is a priestess who fights with an enchanted leaf

6. White Peony. While not a character, this flower was used as a reference for designing Peony's clothes, where the image of a white peony in full bloom inspired the character's skirt design, while the image of a peony in a closed bud inspired the shoulders of her outfit

Old sketch but new drawing. I have a bunch of little drawings. For some reason i drew Paula Polestar with a melting chocosicle or whatever its called. #earthbound is still one of my favorite sources of inspiration. Its just so weird but the modern setting is fun :)

My "origin game"? The original Legend of Zelda The game that "defines me"? The Legend of Zelda : The Minish Cap The game that awoke my inner-gamer; if we're talking in terms of challenge-seeking? Well... Momodora is pretty much where that began for me

Chapter 29 of Aria of Stars and Snow!! After an upsetting interaction, Janae decides she needs to talk directly with Aria about something on her mind. #ariaofstarsandsnow #ariaofstarsandsnowchapter #webcomic #comic #oc #ocart #art #digitalart #characters

Chapter 29 of my original comic, Aria of Stars and Snow! It is done in a monochromatic purple style. This chapter has the characters Janae and Wistaria in it. Janae is a young woman with side swept bangs and dark hair pulled into twin buns. She has on large circular glasses, a collared shirt with a dark midsection and short white poofy sleeves with a purple stripe near the ends. She has on purple high waisted pants and white boots with purple tops, bottoms, and a stripe in the middle.
Wistaria is a child with light wavy shoulder length hair and long bangs with two sections sticking out to the sides. She has on light long pants and shoes with a dark purple hoodie on. The chapter starts with Janae facing away from Wistaria while kneeling down.

Panel 1: Wistaria looks at Janae’s back. Janae is turned away and kneeling, her hair buns drooping sadly.

Panel 2: Janae has turned toward Wistaria slightly, face still mostly obscured. She looks upset and says “…Aria, did you… did you think I was going to-“

Panel 3: Wistaria leans forward and looks upset and troubled as she yells “NO! I didn’t! It was an accident, I don’t know why I did that.”

Panel 4: Wistaria looks calmer, but still troubled as she says “You’ve been so nice to me. Even when I’m… difficult and not nice. I’m really sorry.”

Panel 5: Janae has turned towards Wistaria with a serious expression and Wistaria looks focused on her. Janae says “Aria, I need to say something. It’s really important, okay?” Wistaria answers with “Um… okay.” Janae says “Okay.”

Panel 6: Janae’s expression grows more serious as she says “You haven’t ruined anything or done anything wrong. But even if you did, that would be okay.”

Panel 7: Janae looks earnest and emotional as she looks directly at Wistaria, leaning over a little to match her level. She says “You can talk to me whenever you’re ready, about anything. I’m here. I care about you, Aria. No matter what, nothing will change that.”
