It has no practical impact, but adding a name to my "People the World Would be Better Off Without" list does make me feel a little better.

If nothing else, I've definitively proven that action-at-a-distance doesn't work for murdering someone with hate.

Be careful how much of yourself you give to a job, because you don't get it back when things end.

The number of Republican Party officials who will immediately volunteer to enforce the ban on trans athletes by doing genital inspections just shows how dedicated they are to their agenda. Which is raping children, by the way.

It's so weird to know that the entire Trump cabinet is a bunch of sweaty, too-online dorks, and the only reason they're all doing steak-and-sauerkraut instead of Kool-Aid pineapples is because they don't follow anybody fun.

One fun thing to do on a Saturday morning — or anytime! — is shift the Overton Window. Only three state political parties support any form of Guaranteed Minimum Income, and they’re probabaly not the ones you expect. Send ‘em a message! rgmii.org/blog/why-are...

It’s impressive — in an unmitigated disaster kinda way — that Trump is bad at _everything_, from war to pool resurfacing. He’s a jackhole-of-all-trades, a Renaissance man of incompetence, the anti-Midas whose touch turns evening to shit.

My boss has become an LLM proxy. A problem comes in -- a ticket, an internal report, whatever -- and he copy-and-pastes it into whichever model he's using this week, and then copy-and-pastes the result into Slack. I don't think he reads any of it.

If a billionaire is a policy failure, a trillionaire is a civilizational one. One person hoarding that much wealth in a world where people are in need — hungry, sick, homeless — is the end product of a society undergoing the complete collapse of human decency. A trillionaire is an obscenity.

Sent a message to my boss yesterday, basically begging him not to go forward with the slop-coded, unreviewed, under-test, overly-complicated changes to the new version, added specifically for the company’s biggest client. This isn’t so much a “No” as a “Fuck you.”

There are apparently sports other than baseball and something called “basketball” is having its World Series. Cute! I like the tall guy who cries. I like Zohran Mamdani. I think the name “Kickerbockers” is funny. I hate seeing NY fans happy. So, go… Spurs? Is that right? “Spurs”?

Trump loves his official second-term portrait, and keeps putting it on everything — money, passports, the Justice Department. But the only thing I see is the flashlight under his chin, to make him look imposing as he glowers at the camera, like original-series Baltar.

Is it a crime to induce system-wide economic collapse at the civilizational level? The answer we came up with in 2008 was “No,” but I feel like maybe we should revisit that in the next couple of months. We have to be able to charge them with _something_.

Homicides in Los Angeles are at their lowest level since 1966, and all the big-name mayoral candidates are pushing for more cops. _More_ cops. Because the LAPD is so famously trustworthy. If these dumb motherfuckers spend more money on cops, I’m going to make sure they need it.
