On Monday, the US Supreme Court decided in Trump v. Slaughter that the US Federal Trade Commission (“FTC”) may not be independent anymore.

Microsoft couldn't even convince the US government of its cloud's security – ultimately, it got approved because undoing the pre-approval adoption would have been too painful. All the same reasons and more speak against using Microsoft in Europe.
